Harmonic mixing is just a base point for picking tracks, building sets and getting technical is where the true skill shines.. but you are right that it does take a trained ear to hear a key clash.
And i do stand by my opinion that it seperates the good from the bad, this is what i think feel free to dissagree.
As much as you want to dismiss the idea.. it does subconciously kill the vibe on the dance floor, and fuck up the energy in a set.
Post a playlist? rofl, im not here to compare playlists.. nor do i need to prove anything to any ta's. Ive played at parties and have been offered to play at a very nice club (not main room) by a promoter that watched me mix.. i just do this as a hobby for my own and gf's listening enjoyement. I just couldn't see myself turning into a "dj" promoting himself, id rather just play at parties once in awhile. But when i do see local dj's mixing teribbly, key clashing etc and then i see someone who actually pays attention to the music its a huge difference.
Edit: I never said anywhere that i was good, nor did i say i was better than anyone else. |
This is coming from the dude who calls anyone critical of shoddy beatmatching "one of those music nerds who sits in the corner"
