You def. have no idea about DJing, you might as well drink some poison and go to sleep.
You're saying as a dj you have to "act?" Well, i hate posers man. I don't go to a club to see an "overweight chump" play 80's choons, I go to a club to have a good time and get some proper education.
Djs have it easier than musicians? It's like separating chlorophyll from plants. Djs are musicians, most of what you call "djs", usually have their own studio and make their own tracks. The mere action of composing and writing makes you a musician, the whole idea of arranging music, mixing, eq'ing and playing for the entertainment of others, makes you a musician. Therefore, djs are musicians...
I've seen straight faced djs that bring the house down every night they play. Djing is not easy, you can play cheesy records all the time, that's easy but all it makes you is a freakin sheep.
Once you're looking under the kompakt back catalog and digging for "Guerilla records" on your basement, or playing that long lost track on WARP you can consider yourself DECENT.
Go to bed...

"I think the scientific and the artistic spirit have something in common. The scientist wants not only to learn the facts, but to understand how they cohere, fit together and make a whole. He even uses criteria such as beauty and symmetry to help decide which theory he wants.
The scientist cannot capture the whole cosmos in thought. In his mind he makes a kind of microcosm, which we see as an analogue of the cosmos. In this way we try to get a feeling for the whole. The artist, I suppose, gets a feeling for the whole some other way.”
