i think you're asking a crowd sold to Canon.

I would never buy anything not made by them

The sensor is being made by Sony... which is a pretty noisy one.

I have no idea about anything regarding digital SLR cameras but we're going to get my mom a Pentax K100D for Christmas, as she has a Pentax 35mm SLR from like 30 years ago that still rocks, plus she has a shitload of lenses for it, which can be used with the K100D.
