Look where they are now in terms of PC sales (not counting my favorite ThinkPad - which DOES RULE. tHE ONly IBM product that I can say safely "it doesn't suck")... The name alone will cause it to fail miserably in Southern US. I don't know much about blu-ray, but I agree in so far as Sony has a stupidly short-sighted approach to developing technologies. It's a real pity, because proprietary issues aside, they are capable of producing some nice devices. I don't know whether it's their greed or their music and movie production subsidiaries that drive them to proprietary formats, but either way it harms their bottom line.

LOL at format wars post! tho, I doubt that HD-DVD/BLURAY will take off, simply because there's no ripping crack ATM. You can't rent bluray/HD-DVD yet from netflix (let alone rip it to your HD).
