Took Jason's advice and went yesterday w/Dallas. Ended up not getting there til 4pm, as Dallas had to go to the hospital for x-rays due to an arm injury, but we made it- crippled and all!
Didn't want to get too wasted as I was driving, so hit up the food row first. Star discovery at the show had to be the green apple beer from Nickel Brook Brewery (Burlington). I hate beer, but this stuff I could drink cuz it really tasted like green apple. They were also very generous w/their half pours. There was a booth of some bartending school that had a lot of mixed drinks u could order off their menu. Portions were listed for each ingredient, and granted the cups they were using were too small to fit those amounts in them, the bartender was literally pouring a 1/2 second pour of the booze into the shaker. It was mostly juice/ mixer u were getting. Didn't go back and order from them again. Best laugh is always the bottled water booths, where 1 booth was selling a bottle of water called "Bling" for $25!!! Found the distributor for the gin we fell in love with last year, but they were out of it. As the day was nearing end, food prices were definitely dropping, I even left with a to go container of food this lady was just throwing at me, lol. Pasta from Rosa's Place at the end of the day was absolutely rich and filling. We got 2 samples (of 2 varieties) for 2 tickets. There was also an apple jam stand that had an Apple Pie in a Jar jam on display for tasting, it was soooo good, but they were sold out, so the guy just gave me what was left in the jar to take home, which was very nice of him.
Aparently there was a stand w/Absinthe there- wish I'd seen it! Only downfall of arriving when we did was not having any programs/ maps left for us to know who was situated where. Never did end up trying a single glass of wine, lol.
