woah, i'd hate a lot of you!

and by the way, everywhere i've worked my bosses have said, if they don't tip, serve them last. its my judgement on WHEN i serve you, so if you're not tipping, if you are rude, if you are acting like a shithead then yes. i can and WILL serve you last. what to know why? b/c its more profitable for me to serve someone else first.

don't like it? too bad.

So everyone in service industry should get tips, regardless of what sort of service they work in?

Tipping fast food workers...
Well, I've seen it happening. (Though rarely)

since i've done every freaking service job under the sun..yes i've seen it happen too, esp with Wendy's regulars

personally i like the system the way it is, but i understand why people would want to change it. But the people that don't tip according to the way things are now..don't be surprised when you get served last. you're just not worth my time.

and furthermore, i wouldn't put up with any of the jobs (prep-cook, cook, hostess, waitress, bartender) if there wasn't tips involved. money-wise it wouldn't be worth it.

lol . seems like I brought an appropriate topic for you.

Well i'm beeing totally honest with you. I tip 99% of times . I used to work as a pizza delievery myself for 2 years and I know how it is . In jobs that have potential for tipping the company doesn't pay much so if people don't tip it aint worth it.
I used to get 2.45$ per delievery at pizza hut and 0$per hour. so it was all depended on delieveries and tips. Bullshit job indeed,so happy i quited finally.
The other pizza places have similar payments for drivers. So when people didn't tip i'd get so upset and that's why i always tip when i go out.
That nite was an exception cause I was out of money, having the worst time ever. And the bitch told me to fuck myself. and threw the coin on me. That's just wrong.

that doesn't bother me. i understand if you've run outta money. it happens. most ppl at my bar are students, and don't have tons of cash. being nice and saying something shouldn't get u attitude, and her reaction is bad.

if you're a chronic non-tipper, or u just paid for $8 of drinks with a $100 bill, then yea, i'll serve you last

i won't be deliberately rude though, unless you are to me

im all for tipping but sometimes people expect a tip for services that require no effort at all which is wrong.

At fast food joints, its just plain silly since its the guys at the back doing all the work and its like your just tipping the cashier because he told you how much your total came to.

At bars, its justified but i really dont see any reason to tip for things like beer or a bottle of water. There was minimum effort involved in the same but i still do it just because i know theres a high chance you'l get ignored the next time you come up to the bar. But if it was a fancy cocktail you ordered and it turned out great then a good tip is in order (even more so if the bartender recommended it to you).

Restaurants i think is where you shouldn't be shy with the tip if the food and service are exemplary. Usually we keep it to 15% for average, 20% for good and 25 for excellent but if the food is horrible and the waiter/ waitress has a whatever attitude, then we tip one cent just to let them know that we didnt forget to appreciate the delightful time we had at the restaurant.

Tipping is slang, sometimes we forget its actually called gratuity which is supposed to mean that you pay for how pleased you were with the quality of service.

as for bar, bear in mind that its 1am on a saturday and instead of partying with their friends, every wknd (christmas, nye, reading week etc) they're running around behind a bar for $6.40/hr

So what?

That's their choice of employment, and should expect crappy hours.
