Since we’re on the topic of showering, I’ll spread some knowledge.
It’s actually bad for your skin (especially in the winter) to take an excessive amount of showers. I mean, it’s cool to get in there and strictly rinse off, but lathering your body with soap every time you shower (especially if it’s more than once a day) strips your skin of its natural and essential oils.
My dermatologist even said that when you do your “once a day” shower, you should only wash (with soap) places like under your arms, behind your ears and your private parts, and that’s it. Other than that, there’s no need to wash your entire body with soap , unless you work outdoors and are filthy when u get home (or after the gym). I never use soap on places like my legs and arms and stomach. Only a few times a week I will, like after I shave, I’ll use some body wash, but I’m more of a rinser and just use soap/body wash in the essential areas that need cleaning. Oh yea and feet. That’s the only thing I’m a psycho about. I always have to use a pumice stone and foot scrub…pretty much for every shower.
Same thing goes for your hair. I only wash mine about 3 or 4 times a week. My hair actually looks better, the longer I go without washing it. |
yes. i definitely was aware abou this. i have naturally dry skin, but i still use lots of soap. i make sure that i put on oil or cream on immediately before my skin gets dry when i get out of the shower.
