I've had a similiar experience here. Guy who lives next door to me (dormitory setting) likes rap basically that MTV (America) junk, he likes to play his music loud. So I do too, all the class tunes (in my opinion): Twisted, Airwave, Carte Blanche, etc. but he doesn't like them. For the longest time I thought that blasting these songs would cause him to like him but eventually figured out that people like what they want to like. You can't really do anything about it and if you're too pushy you can drive them away from it.

Thus the moral of the story: Musical tastes are subjective. What one thinks is best is not the best for all. That's just life. Take it in stride, listen to what you like and pay no mind to what others think so long as they aren't annyoing you.

Exactly the same thing happened when Ian Van Dahl - Castles In The Sky first came out. I showed it to my friends, some of them just didn't care, or said it's average. Later, when it became hit, and the radio started playing it, everyone went crazy, and asked all the time 'have you got the...?'. I told them that I've already got all the remixes since ages... I showed them the wippenberg remix which is pretty good imho (atleast better than the original), but they noticed that this isn't the one that's on the radio... heh..
And this happens many times, this was just an example...

This is so LAME! People like these suck...

I just got back from watching Blade 2...awesome movie btw. Anyway, I went with my idiot gino of a brother and my 13 yr old cousin (who I'm freeing like crazy with trance... ) and we're listening to the radio. Rapture comes on and lo and behold...my brother starts singing the words, I was like WTF???? He HATES that song...I couldn't believe it...I was in shock. I told him how I had that song for the LONGEST time and that when I played it he said it was CRAP. Hypocrites. Ppl like dat are ALL HYPOCRITES! Make me sick. I mean I don't understand it. Close minded and then one min they're willing to listen to 'new' shit? messed up!
