definitely solid
I agree whole heartedly with the general consensus here.
In fact, I went to footwork last Friday JUST to get my hands on the Promo CD. Val & Vince--great work. I know you must have put a lot of effort into it, and it shows. Respect to those not posting it for a bit to give the hand-outs a time to get into all the right hands.
My general feel on this wasn't a 'super club bangin' set' but a whole story that starts out with (relatively) softer beats and then starts hammering out some sexy stuff later on. I've always liked Vinyl Junkie's sets for genious track selection with flawless mixing.
I still remember one time going up to Vince and saying 'man! Nice set!' and he just looks at me with a rather dejected look replying "not really..." The standards these guys put themselves up to reflects well on their work.
And whoever commented on these guys being super-guys to talk to outside the booth is dead on; Toronto DJs are starting to become renown for their friendliness and expertise on the decks, and this promo CD and the guys behind it are a testament to that fact!
ps. Kudos to the graphic design as well--CD cover looks good!
