Well said! I'm going to borrow that phase, if you don't mind.

I know clubs tend to emphasize the lighting closer to the morning hours for certain reasons but I find it distracting and annoying when I am in my own vibe and all of a sudden the lights go on and they stay on for way too long.

Especially in sonic. the club is dark. It should stay dark and maintain an underground feel.

The lights are skeeeeeeeetchy and ruin my vibe in sonic.

Don't get me wrong though, I do like them in Guv. I think the only place lights should really be is in that club....AND TRANCE IN THE MAIN ROOM!!!! (wink wink)

Lighting should be known as the art of darkness where even 1 fixture should tell a story
I am not a big fan of ott lighting , I dislike having to do Tiesto type of events with all that light
For me Dark Dirty Tribal with minimalist stabs of light punctuating the darkness is much more fun.

Thats a personal thing though and doing it for a job means I could be doing the lighting for a TV production one day (Example I will be doing the lights for the Motoring TV series for thier car of the year episode) a fashion show or concert the next to a club event etc etc.
You do a job , you get paid thats it

agreed on strob lighting being awful. I can't stand it under any circumstances in a club. Maybe we can find a politician to ban it

Lasers...I don't care one way or the other. Fitting at Guv, lame in smaller spaces. It's akin to putting a dynacord in a 600 sq. ft. lounge, lol.

Lighting is an important factor though and I respect clubs that put as much thought into their lighting systems as they do into their sound and decor.

IMHO, less is more though...darker, non-busy lighting is my preference. Sonic does it well...as does Footwork.
