And what is Trance if not something that came out of House and Techno? I like to have a little bit of respect for the history of the music I enjoy. Only a closed minded person would be unable to recognize that there are great songs and shit songs in all genres.

Some Americans invented a lot of genres of music, but most of them have remained in their niches unless they became commercial.. the true vibes of most genres has arguably stayed in it's niche of origin unless it's taken on another form.
This is just how music scenes work.
Some people from Chicago's gay post disco scene and some guys from NYC invented house. Some people from Detroit created techno with the help of some dudes in Chicago and some other dudes from Germany.

Its the same here you get people who call everything with a kick "dance music". its just those people that don't know piss all about it but you can't claim a whole country is the same... Every where you go you have small minded people or people that aren't educated on some things so its not the persons fault, maybe instead of slaggin said person or people... explain to them.

I'm not really sure you had a point so I took the opportunity to make my own. Sure not every American city has a really deep tradition of music but then again a lot of them do. And not just electronic music either we invented a whole lot of other styles of music.
