There are so many other factors that come into play. I personally believe it depends on the driver.

My driving compared to a Sunday Church driver would be a lot different. I drive my car hard and would probably need repairs sooner than some old grandma who drives the car once in a while.

Let's just say the Honda has been in the shop way more than the BMW...

I would say maintenance is even more important. You can drive your car hard, but if you take care of it, it'll run well. Unless you get unlucky with it. Some cars are just gremlins - no matter what you do they keep breaking.

My Impreza is the best car Ive EVER owned, and Ive owned quite a few in my years. Japaneese cars that are actually made in Japan seem to be really well built.

That is also true. Maintenance plays a very important role. If you maintain the vehicle, get it properly inspected, oil it when it needs to, keep it clean, avoid rust, etc. the car should keep working.

But its true, if you get a lemon, your screwed! My GFs dad had a Jag, and his car had to of been a lemon. No matter what he did, it kept having problems.

But then, Jags were never the most dependable of cars. I'd say their takeover by Ford has significantly increased their reliability.

Hmm...I drive a Mazda...that was built by Ford..so I'm either good to go or fcuked.

Depends on where it was built. My mom has a 2000 Protege, and its engine was built in Japan. We haven't had one problem with it yet.

Its a 2006 mazda6s, which is the V6. All the V6 cars were built in NA. Only the 4 cylinder ones are built in Japan.

Currently I own an Audi A4, and again, not one problem, runs a bit rough in winter for the first 2 minutes but that's because she doesn't like cold........

consider yourself lucky.

especially with that a4.

I know this list isn't Canadian, but considering how old my car is, I really am surprised that I haven't had to put THAT much money into my Cavalier.
