I'm going to emphasize Man With No Name, Doof, Juno Reactor and Hallucinogen. But one duo I've not seen mentioned so far is X-Dream.

Aaaaaah.....psytrance!
Now we're talking my language! I'm a bit of a self-proclaimed psy/Goa collector, definitely with a soft spot for the Goa sound. Psy and Goa are so widely varied in their styles that one of the posters was correct: your musical tastes and background will make a big difference in what appeals to you in the genre.
Following are some of my recommendations. For most, if not all, you can listen to music samples ranging from 2 to 4 minutes at www.saikosounds.com. That's where I do a fair bit of research before buying anything. These samples should give you a fairly rough idea of some of the stuff floating around out there to see if any of it piques your interest. What I am not familiar with is the darker, techier and more minimal styles.
Goa: circa 1994 - 1998
V/A - Distance to Goa Volume 4
V/A - Tantrance 6
Doof - Let's Turn On
Green Nuns of the Revolution - Rock Bitch Mafia
Hallucinogen - Twisted
Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger
Pleiadians - Identified Flying Objects
Prana - Cyclone
Transwave - Helium
X-Dream - We Created Our Own Happiness
Nu-skool Goa: Goa renaissance (hahaha...I couldn't resist)
V/A - Apsara
V/A - Twist Dreams
Khetzal - Corolle
Ka-Sol - Fairytale
Psytrance
OOOD - Free Range
Voice of Cod - We Are Free
Atma - Between Good and Evil
Derango - Tumult
Progressive
Frogacult - Something for Sundays
Mid - downtempo
Younger Brother - A Flock of Bleeps
Ott - Blumenkraft
Shpongle - Are You Shpongled (the best trip music of all time)
The best thing to do if you are interested in quality psy is to start poking around sites like psynews.org or isratrance.com and reading the reviews section. Just like any genre of electronic music, you have to sift through a lot of crap to find some incredible gems.

Touché
I dunno man, I dunno! I own Sky Input, and it's just a bit too crazy and insane for me to consider it a classic. Although musically very different, it reminds me of old KoxBox. It's not easy to trance out on this music. Just when you think you've found a melody and a groove to trip into trance, it abruptly changes. No cohesive melody emerges that ties a track together. You catch bits and pieces here and there, but then they drift off and are lost.
While I highly respect the artist and what's he's doing, especially in conjunction with Suntrip Records, much of Sky Input sounds like random noise to me. I want to get it, I really do, but I just can't make sense of all the chaos in the music.
That said, I do enjoy Filteria on Apsara and am really excited to see what Jannis will do with the K.O.B. project. His website has some promising samples.
However, that's not going to stop me from buying Heliopolis because I'm such a strong supporter of the 'Goa renaissance' and what Suntrip Records is doing.
