Well i heard about some war of words going on between the two.

Not sure if its true or just rumours but they had a legal fight going on because on field Bob called Shoaib Akhtar " Blackie " hahaha

No need for him to get pissed off or upset beacuse i think he is kind of weird looking anyways LOL.

Shoaib had slapped Woolmer

A liaison officer with the Pakistan team during the recent ICC Champions Trophy on Wednesday made sensational allegations that Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar had slapped coach Bob Woolmer after they had a fight over what music should be played in the team bus in Jaipur.

Retired Army Colonel Anil Kaul, who was with the Pakistani team right through the tournament, also alleged that Shoaib had misbehaved with some girls at a discotheque which led to a brawl. Questioning the timing of the dope charge on Shoaib, the army officer said he is coming out with this account since he wanted the world to know that there is "more to it [doping scandal] than what meets the eye". During the journey in the bus there was an impasse over whether to listen to Indian or Western music. Woolmer tried to crack a joke on Shoaib who then slapped him on the neck," Kaul told television channels.

"Shoaib also misbehaved with some girls in a disco which led to a brawl," he alleged. Kaul also claimed that Woolmer wanted Pakistan Cricket Board to take stringent disciplinary action against the fast bowler following these incidents. Kaul said barely hours after the incident, the Pakistan team announced that Shoaib and Mohammed Asif were being sent back home after a failed dope test.

The army officer also alleged that Shoaib created a ruckus at the team hotel where the Indian team was also putting up. "Shoaib went to the floor where the Indian team was staying and started banging on the doors. He accidentally banged on the door of Indian coach Greg Chappell and his wife came out, dressed in her night clothes," he said. "Shoaib made some comments about her. The next morning, I was having breakfast with the Pakistan team manager when Woolmer stormed in. He said even Chappell has complained about Shoaib and strict action must be taken."

Woolmer, however, denied these incidents, although he did admit that there were disciplinary issues with Akhtar. "The issue is being blown out of proportion. I don't know who is spreading these rumours. There was a disciplinary issue when Shoaib was up in the evening, so we had a little bit of a problem," he said. Pakistan team manager Talat Ali denied that any such incidents took place. Shoaib's career is hanging in balance after a dope tribunal banned him for two years for testing positive for a banned steroid nandrolone.

Coming from an Indian source, this allegation may sound dubious to the Pakistanis.

Woolmer's death 'suspicious' - police

Police are now treating Bob Woolmer's death as suspicious, Mark Shields, the deputy commissioner of police, told a news conference in Jamaica.

"We have already informed the Woolmer family of these developments," Shields said. "Having met with the pathologists, our medical personnel and investigators, there is now sufficient information to continue a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr Woolmer, which we are now treating as suspicious."

Pervez Mir, the Pakistan Cricket Board spokesman, told AFP: "The police suspect that Woolmer may have been murdered. They have started an investigation." Unconfirmed reports suggested there had been signs of strangulation.

Shields said the police had been in close contact with the Pakistan team management, the Cricket World Cup committee and the ICC, but he would not speculate on the cause of Woolmer's death. "It would be inappropriate for me to make any comment at this stage as we have still not got the final official report from the pathologists," he said.

Talat Ali, the Pakistan team manager, told Geo TV they had not been given full details by the police. "They have not made any reference to poisoning or anything yet, as some reports are suggesting," Ali said. "There is no information at all that this poison could be involved. Investigations will carry on so we cannot come to any conclusions right now."

Ali denied Pakistan were not allowed to travel. "There are no police restrictions on the team," he said. "As planned for now, we are flying back on Saturday."

Woolmer, 58, was found unconscious in his hotel room on Sunday and pronounced dead shortly after at a Jamaica hospital. Woolmer's family said after speaking to doctors they expected his death came from a stress-related heart attack. An autopsy completed on Tuesday was inconclusive, but investigators were waiting for the results of toxicology tests to see if they helped determine the cause

Man, if this turns out to be a murder, things will get pretty nasty for the team. Already, Javed Miandad is Dawood Ibrahim's close relative...dunno how much interest Dawood takes in the current team. (no offense...just wondering)

I was suspiscious from the start. The timing of it, the way it happened, and the nation involved, who have a fanaticism for the game that sometimes gets out of hand (invading pitches in england was for a long time a given in ODIs, often before it'd ended) And blood & Vomit from a heart attack? Maybe i've seen too much american tv but I suspect, and not a player, but a fan or something. I wish I didn't have those thoughts but it was just too perfect in the timing sense.

I'm no cricket fan, but i've been taking in some of the games during the world cup while I lie ill in my bed. As soon as I heard the news of woolmers death I immediatley suspected foul play, especially after being humiliated by the mighty irish.

I reckon he's been poisoned.
