We were worried that we wouldn't make it to the club in time to get in before midnight in order to take advantage of the $10 guest-list entrance...we failed and ended up pitching the $20 but whatever it was cool. While waiting in line to get into the club Ed, i.e. Nostrum, met up with us and little did I know at that point how much this gentleman would add to my spectacular night.
Anyways, we got inside the club and started making our rounds trying to start the night off the right way by finding all the TAs who were pin attendance. I partied with a lot of great ppl--both TAs and random clubbers--and I will provide a small blurb for each of them below b/c thy deserve it!
The first part of my night wasn't enjoyable: I couldn't get the right 'buzz' going and, so, I just couldn't get into the mood. Consequently, I missed the majority of Lawrence's set I chilled in Tanga for a good while trying to get myself psyched back up and by the time I was good to go Lawrence was into the last hour of his set. I have to mention that during this time period, two ppl were especially helpful in getting me back in the mood to party. First is the lovely Jess: she unhesitatingly chilled with me for a good long time chatting with me and just encouraging me to smile and have a good night. Thank you very much Jess. The other person was Ed: it may sound a little silly to say but I have to point out that Ed caused my mood to take a complete 180. Out of no where he comes to chill with me in Tanga and says "Do you remember near and far from Sesame Street?" and I'm just thinking/saying WTF are you talking about? haha. So then he starts acting out what he's saying (haha, as I type this I'm laughing and have a huge smile on my face ): he goes in close to me and says 'near' and then runs about 10 feet away from me and says 'far'. He honestly did this probably no less than seven times and I couldn't help but laugh and smile. He completely changed my attitude and the way I was feeling at the time. I was, in short, amazed: I remember that Ed and I shortly thereafter were joking about the whole thing and he said something to me which really caught my attention--> he said something like "You see, something so small just like that can instantly switch around how you're feeling"...it really stuck with me b/c it was so true: in the matter of time that it takes to snap one's fingers I had gone from being horribly disappointed to feeling great..........
Anyways, it was around 3am at this point and I finally made my way to main room to start the fucken party!! haha... I finally started dancing and from that point onward I didn't stop for a sec right until 7am, not a word of a lie!.......
............ my favorite parts of the night!!
There are a lot of things about this night that remain special to me. Generally, I am so appreciative of all the ppl who made it out.......
.......... A huge THANK YOU to everyone with whom I partied. The two very best of this night for me were: 1) all the amazing ppl I met and partied with; and 2) the crazy hard dancing!! When I say crazy hard I mean non-stop, give it all you've got, constant smiles, I never wanna leave this place movement! haha. This event was definitely the most fun I have ever had dancing: from the ppl to the nitrous (so sick) to the lasers and lights to the general atmosphere of everyone simply wanting to have fun, it was awesome. I've never had ppl feed off my energy so much before (and vice versa): every single person I was dancing with that night smiled at me and encouraged me to destroy the floor as Oliver banged out the hard beats............
11) Ed: I am very happy that you partied with us: Derek had mentioned that he had a sick time partying with just a short while ago and now I see exactly what he meant. Ed is, from what I gather from this night, a truly 'stand-up' guy. He is very kind and friendly (bought everyone a drink as soon as we got there!). He's really funny (at one point he said to me: "I want to be a good father to my daughter, someone who can provide for her you know....not like I have a daughter or anything though" LMAO....haha he also took off his shirt and made Jess feel his man boobs LMAO)). No question he also seems really smart and deep: we had a lot of conversations about previous events, the dynamics of trance, ppl's attitudes and interactions with each other, and so on. I mentioned it earlier but just so you know that it meant a lot to me: thank you very much Ed for getting me back on track to enjoying the night. I am genuinely happy that we got the chance to party together and I would definitely love to hit up a bunch of more events with you..........
......I think all of you realize how much fun I had and even more importantly how highly I value the presence of fun ppl at these events. So, to everyone who played a role in my night: I sincerely thank you.

........I'm just glad everything worked out. The way I saw it, it was time to shake it and you had that written all over you face....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~SHAKE IT!!!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To me, a Trance party, is always "the best ride at the fair". I was just glad to be there when the wheel went 'round. Of the peeps I have met through TA, you are one of two that truly epitomize what a real fan of Trance and the dance party scene really are. The other, of course, is my good friend Derek. It's not how long you've been in it, it's the zeal with which you pursue it. It's not how much you know, it's how much you want to learn. It's not who you know, it's about who you don't know but can't wait to meet. It's not about being sad cuz the night ended, it's about being seriously down with the knowledge that those peeps that you haven't even met yet are going to be happy that you did the next time......
Thanks a lot for the kind words Nick and I too look forward to the next time we take on the floor. Good times man!!!
