Well that's the problem now isn't it?

It's that issue that started the Iran-Iraq war...

I've heard the Iranians have taken the sailors to Tehran for questioning. Surely it would be more practical and less provocative keeping them on the naval bases on the southern Iranian coast for questioning?

You're right, it is the problem.

Maybe the lack of media attention means that there's actually some legitimacy to the cartographic debate? I, for one, could care less about where the line falls on the map. I do care about seeing the Royal Marines returned home, and likewise the Iranians (and any captured/injured American servicemen/women as well) freed and allowed to return home.

Just wow. How fucking naive are you people? Has anyone here read PNAC? And is anyone here familiar with the declassified record of countless false flag ops? And the history of intense media pro-war/pro-state propaganda during warfare? Or do you guys really have such a short memory? Not taking any names here, so don't assume it's necessarily directed at any of you personally, but a good number of post here reflect a complete lack of understanding/ignorance of modern history and warfare. Which is rather disappointing considering a lot of you guys are pretty intelligent people. Unfortunately, I can't say I'm terribly surpirsed by the herd mentality or pathetic display of collective and individual weakness here. Simply disgusting. "In a democracy, people get the kind of goverment they deserve." May the state rule your weak pathetic collective asses.

I've always loved that quote, it's oh so very true. In any case, I'm reserving my opinion on this 'til there is more information available. Obviously both sides have publicity related biases in their responses, so until we have more information I would say it's best to not jump to conclusion. Note to the brits: You could be wrong, you could've been in their waters. Imagine what the states or the UK would do to iranian marines in the hypothetical situation that they found some of them in UK waters, or lets say in French waters close to the UK. Don't go all morally superior so quickly! Your troops could of easily been doing some reckon work for the US or for your country near Iran.

Like I said, that's not necessarily personally directed at anyone, especially not you dude . Point taken, but manufacturing an excuse for invading Iran is just too convenient and completely consistent with the bigger PNAC agenda, so I seriously doubt the incident was some sort of accident or coincidence. Plus, if you were Iran, and there's a hostile nations forces near your borders, you proably wouldn't react much differently. Essentialy they're in a no win postion, and I excpect to see nukes flying soon, or atleast some pretty intensive carpet bombing.

EDIT: For more research, for those of you have any interest in doing it ofcourse, look up JINSA, NeoConservatives, PNAC, stated agenda of far right radical Zionists, Wolfowitz and other prowar neocon think tanks who also happen to be Zionists, and their connections, both direct and indirect. Connect the dots for yourselves. It really explains and clarifies alot.

"+1", it's called an "I agree" statement, if you didn't know.

So how, in your opinion, should we act toward Iran? If resolutions mean nothing to you, then I guess war is the only alternative? Since, in your opinion, resolutions mean nothing because the west doesn't follow them? What the hell are they made for then? The world doesn't want another Hitler on its hands.

Lets let all the rogue regimes have nuclear weapons while we're at it...

Its a TV survey. Common man, you should know better about it's validity . Pro-war canadians? Talk about selection bias.

If it was Iranian marines we would be allow them to speak to their consulate, we would contain them on a military base and not take them to London to be paraded, because they don't seem to be going to Tehran to talk to any embassy officials.

This situation could be solved and any misunderstandings corrected, if they allowed the British consulate to talk the naval personal involved.

Dood, I just picked one I found.

It wasn't to further any agenda I just thought it interesting that in this particular instance people would vote like that.

It does say something though besides setting off your anti-neocon meter lol...

CTV btw is probably the least biased of the ones I could have picked if you knew your Canadian media
i.e. it's not the Nanny state, government spoon fed, CBC.
