I've had several friends who have received letters from Rogers in regards to something about illegally downloading or something, but I don't know if they have any hard proof.

The only proof they might have is huge bandwidth consumption, which i'm sure does stand out when you Download/upload 20gb-30gb of "academic files" a week.


RIAA/MPAA/ESA members are submitting lists of IPs that were found to be involved in a download of a particular movie/music/game torrent... to the ISP that they find is associated with the address... ISP checks a CPE database and finds specific modem/user that the address was bound to at the particular time

kinda like having an FBI informant in the mob... sorta thing

and if so, how did you deal with it? i was reading some of the other forums and this email is just a mass email from BayTSP to try to scare ppl but in all legality they have no way of enforcing people in canada
