His two recent Transitions mix cds are phenominal! I can't get enough of Vol. 2

He's got such a high quality standard for every mix cd he does

Some interesting reviews (mostly positive) on Digweed's set at Pacha NYC on Saturday...

Posted by fr0st (Brooklyn, NY):

"...Now I have only seen digweed 10 or so times where as ive seen sasha 20+ times. For the most part digweed has been really consistent where sasha has not. Last time I saw digweed he was really great, but didnt blow me away. Last night he totaly blew me away, he was totaly rocking 3 cdj's he seem to have made some sort of loop cd with basslines, effects, breakdowns etc. It allowed him to give his entire set some sort of conformity through out his set. The breakdown pad/woosh/drum thing he used through out the night was sick sick sick..."

I've been a long time fan of Digger. The guy's skill are undeniable, but I can definitley see why some people don't get him or find him boring. Although he does have the ability to rock it out and throw down a pumping set, for the most part he's a DJ that likes to fuck with your head. His style consists of various contrasts that go from one extreme to another with perfect flow and still maintains that 'journey' feel that most DJs these days have no clue about. I gotta say tho, his style is a little demanding at times, and you have to be in the mood for Digger to truly appreciate him. I've had tons of times when I would listen to a set or compilation by him and just hate it the first time, but after another 2 times hearing it I'd end up loving it. I think the guy is a dying breed, and to some extent going out of style...at least here in Toronto where its all about the banging beats.

As for if he still has it or not, I kind of stopped following him during 2005, wasn't too impressed with the type of music he was playing, or maybe just the music back then in general. Although, after not really listening to him for months I came across Transitions Vol. 1, and it is probably one of the best compilations he has ever done to date. Too bad Vol 2 was a flop heh.

Digweed was one of my first inspiration in EDM , no wonder the guy got the skills ,He's the man ...but except the last LOL every time i seen him live his sets was boring , & one more thing i dont really like about him in a live performance is that he doesnt have that connection with the crowed ...

I don't really dig his radio show mixes, but I'll tell you one thing, he blew me out of the fucking water at Dragonfly.

That's quite remarkable in itself, because I wasn't even standing in any water, nor was there any water nearby that was fucking (to my knowledge). So if you think about it, he actually had to find some water, make it fuck, blow me into it, blow me out of it, and then hide the water, all while spinning a killer set.

So, whether you were there or not, you can't help but give the man a heap of praise.
