I used to make trance CDs or electronic music CDs for friends of mine who were girls and some liked them, some didn't. It really depended on what music they already were into. If they were into the harder edged stuff like metal or punk, then a harder sound might be better. If they are into pop, folk, lighter rock or dance music, then the more chilled, melodic or vocal based stuff seems to work. If they are into hip hop or r&b...house music might work, esp deep house.
