Trust me I've met alot of kids like you who refused to drink and saw themselves as being on somekind of moral and intellectual high ground because of it. Eventually most of them grow out of it and they realize that drinking is a social activity and not just something people do to inhibit their judgement because they can't have fun otherwise. There's a big difference between someone who just enjoys alcohol and an alcoholic. |
Frankly, I don't see myself on an 'intellectual high ground', and thats the scariest part of it. I know im not the brightest person in the world, but the people that I meet on a day to day basis at my job in the clubs are FAR from anywhere near able to have an even somewhat interesting coversation, and thats drunk or not.
So it only baffles me when I see some already idiotic person feel the need to slosh themselves
You accuse me of throwing everyone into a category of an alcholic yet here you are putting your own cliche's on me as being some fucking smartass who hasnt grown up yet and realized the joys of alchohol.
It's your meatless words that will exactley have me forever standing on my solo shitfilled soapbox while the rest of the world gets drunk and spends less time thinking and more time shitfaced.
What I find to be sad is that people like you have a mindset that drinking and actually willingly impairing yourself is a justful 'social activity' and is totally fine.
Now while I'm well aware I'm alone on that one, I could give 2 fucks less but I must say once again that my constant exposure to these types of people and even through conversations such as this totally prove to me that the mindset of the majority of the world is in a very sad sad fucking place

These people don't go to clubs to think or to have meaningful conversations. There's a time and place for everything. |
Ya, Rly
And if you didn't know, normally when you work in a city with a club, its the city's inhabitants that go to the club, therefore making it very likley to see and talk to these people and get to know who they actually are outside of the club by seeing them around the city that you live in.... Especially if your in a not so large city like mine.
One would have to be a twat to think they knew a person from seeing them at a club requesting music once a week, and you don't think I'm a twat now do you?!

i can tell you from my experience i know a good number of people that are very much so the same as when they are sober. i can name 10people right this second that are. and about half of them are TAs. if not more. i choose to drink because it is fun, it enhances my fun, and i enjoy it. plain and simple.
oh and ask any of the TAs that have been around me enough and know that i drink if i ever act stupid. they will tell you no. i can name 1 time i was a little more obnoxious than i am in general when i start drinking (im blunt while sober but i get a bit more blunt when drinking.) but im not acting stupid. |
While I absolutley can see your point and can somewhat agree, I don't simply choose to drink on the sole grounds that other people are typically dumb about it, I first decided never to drink out of the reasoning that it just didn't interest me.
Like I said before, it's totally impossible to win an ever opinionated battle dealing with drinking especially with a bunch of folks that drink. But to state, 'if the crowd is drunk, drink!' or to admit that people get dumb when they're drunk and then go and say that it's totally fine and all in good fun is absolutley horseshit to me.
To willingly lower your abilities to think with any substance in the name of fun, and adding in the money spent on it and the possibilities of shit going wrong, and then turning it into the biggest social draw of all time is an incredibly and frankly pretty undebatable showmanship at how people can really fuck the order of sensible priorities up. And while that is a mere opinion, I don't see how it doesn't have merit~
