Needs to be a hybrid of both - because if I just wanted great tunes, I'd stay at home and spin for myself

Like I mean, I understand it's your job and this is everyday-business for you kind of like going to TA is mine, but at least try to look like you're there to enjoy the music you put out, and not look like you're there to get paid.

AHHHHHH I hate when they do that!!! And it happens way too often too...

When the build is nearing it's peak and I have my hands in the fuckin air I want to see the DJ doing the same fuckin thing, or jump a bit or just show us he's on the same page! When I see his/her back towards us during a build I just get all 'bleh' inside and dont enjoy the drop nearly as much

I don't mind it if they can do both at the same time, the job of DJing comes first!

I like DJs whose crowd interaction comes from being into their music. Lee Burridge is a perfect example. I love how he loves it! <3

If it doesn't come naturally, don't fucking do it. I don't like try-hards, and if I wanted to see a clown I'd go to the circus.

The DJ's interaction is important but it primarily comes down to teh choonage IMO. If you can't throw down a proper set I really don't care what it is the DJ is doing up there. Of course its always nice to see the DJ acknowledge you and or the rest of the crowd if he/she see's you bouncin around the dancefloor like its the last set you'll ever hear. Then again everything usually makes someones night... you have to have the vibe there regardless of the crowd interaction and tunes.

3 Key Things:

The Vibe = People & Atmosphere
The DJ = Track Selection, Flow & Technicalities
Crowd Interaction

You don't have to look at the DJ while he is playing, you know...

I find it funny that this is even a topic.

Why do you go to an event? To see or hear?

exactly what makes this thread 'funny'??

im just asking a simple question...some ppl might enjoy a better atmosphere and vibe from crowd/dj over some good tunes, whats so bad about that?

if people could care less about seeing the person on the decks, noone would go to clubs, and would just listen to sets at home

so are you saying if the dj puts on good tracks and in between sits in a chair smoking or scratching his ass that you wouldnt care at all? it wouldnt drain you a bit knowing he's not into it at all?
