there were a whole lot mroe than 30-35 ppl there, and the club is not completely open yet, they still have a months work to do on the place, and there liquor license will be officially through soon, its not brians fault he didnt know till that night. I really think the lights and sound in this place were AMAZING!! Once they are finished with this place, it is gonna be one of the sickest venues in sac. give the place a chance, open your eyes and see that this place has a lot more potential than any other place in sac. (at least that is doin dance music) they still have another room to finish, and they have to finish the bar. Next shwo there, check it out, and give em a chance, i have high hopes for this place! Great job brian! oh and i dotn know what club u were in whoever said that the dj was playing top 40??? i was there at 9:30 and i heard vocal trance and progressive, i really enjoyed rustiques set! Once this place is finally up and completely open, it will be great to have an after hours club, and a club with great lights and sound!!!

I heard Justin Timberlake and another pop song. I dont think you can define any of the music played last night as trance either.

I'll give the place a chance but it's going to take ALOT of convincing. Trust me I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE for a place to open in Sacramento that played EDM, but if the nights were anything like last night, then there's no way I would support it.

Sorry, but I was embarrassed to be there, as were my friends.

who taught this brian guy how to run a business? whose idea was it to name a club 'glam' and was this name even test-marketed? why is it he doesn't even know the status of the liquor license until opening night? of course it's his fault. why is he booking talent and opening a club that isn't even near completion? is this how his investors envisioned their money being used? honestly this launch sounds like it was disaster. he's just lucky it was on a wednesday night and the weekend crowd wasn't there to see what all the fuss was about. and what's up with the location? this is supposed to be sac's premiere night club not a call center.

There are certain things that are mandatory to have in place before you open.... especially if you're going to bring in some big names for an opening night! I've seen places do more of a soft open where all the kinks weren't worked out.... but this sounds different.

MUSIC AND BOOZE.... two must-have's before you can do any kind of opening!!

brian is not the owner or the manager, he is an outside promoter, he is fat ass productions, and i think he didnt know untill opening nite about the beer stiuation, cuz u would just assume the club owner to have taken care of that, the promoter books the artist, takes care of the artist, promotes the show, the bar owner sells booze and has the building. when this place is up and running it will be good, i got to look at the 2nd room, it still needs a lot of work, but it will be really cool, and the overall capacity for this place will be 700ish i was told, oh and the timberlake remix u hear was the 2nd dj i think, and i think his name is sasha 23, im not sure, but the first dj was rustiqe (how ever u spell his name) and yes like i said he was spinnin vocal trance and progressive stuff, i will Hopefully be throwin a big trance, vocal trance, and progressive house show, once they are up and running (and have the bar in order) So be on the look out!!!!

Hey guys, I'm Brian from Fat Ass. I'd like to thank all of those who attended the event and tried to support someone who is bringing in top ten DJ talent to Sac. I promoted this show harder than any other rave/club event I've thrown in Sac (about 15 parties). So the word was out there. (radio, newspaper, flyers, internet, etc) If you don't support these events then promoters will not bring out DJs that run $5k + a booking. As for the alcohol, I appologize. I didn't find out till the day of. The club thought they could get away with a catering license but ABC said no. So it was basically a rave on a Wednesday. The sound system and light setup (gotta love those lasers and techno beams) was top notch. You will not find that kind of quality in sound and lights at any other Sac club. I believe if people would of supported this event and the club had the alcohol it could have been an amazing night with different reviews on this forum. Personally, I've spoken with many other people and they were quite satisfied. Well there's the promoters take on the whole thing. Again, thanks to those who supported.

Brian

P.S. If you want to go somewhere just to get drunk and look pretty these aren't the shows. Go to Empire on Wednesday. lol

This was the last thing on my mind

I went to have a good time and that was the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of what happened. I have NEVER gone to an EDM show just to get "fucked up". I have always gone just for the music and the people and the community atmosphere you feel at an EDM show. My friends are the same way. Most everyone on TA is the same way.

I go clubbing nearly every weekend in SF/LA/SD just because I LOVE THE MUSIC. Not because I want to be seen by anyone. Sacramento will never compare to any of the big cities, but that doesnt mean an EDM club in Sacramento cant put on a DECENT show.

Well, my gf and I went to support rustique and check out the club and what an interesting night. Now although the grand opening did not turn out to be what it could have been, know that the club is under construction still due to litigation from the previous owner.

Now luckily I got a call at 10pm from my boy saying just what Brian said, ABC said they couldn't serve any form of alcohol under the catering license. I was one of the lucky ones that was able to 'preparty' before we arrived at the club. Anyways we got there around midnight and once there we saw that the turn out was light with only about 50-75 people and that a lot of work hadn't been done due to the lack of time to prepare because of the court issues.

Despite that Paolo's set was really smooth and I was impressed by the new dj setup, lasers, and especially the sound. Plus being that I partied in this club 6-7 years ago, I was impressed with the increased size from removing a lot of the clutter that was in there.

We socialized with my boys running the club, saw some friends, and hung out with Paolo, so we definitely made the best of it under the circumstances. Despite the many flaws with the club being under construction, I can have a good time almost anywhere with good friends and good music.

Now there were a lot of negatives due to preparation but most of them could not have been avoided. Within a month you will see everything come into fruition with this club and it will be an excellent club to party in and bring in EDM talent which no club in Sac does. The only faulty thing that may have been prevented was the liquor license which I give no excuse for and my boy should've already had it handled by opening night. But it is what is and hopefully once the club is fully up and running I hope you guys give it a second chance.

PS. Rustique plays progressive house/trance and was sick as fuck. Sasha23 was the top40 guy, Paolo pwn'd, and dubfire was boring. :x

PSS. Rich, Isa asked Paolo why he isn't playing with dubfire at Ruby and he said he is flying back to see his family during that weekend to take a break from the lengthy tour. Sucks because I'd die to hear him on Ruby's system.
