I love whispering softly in your ear Rysh
Such a great night. Was discussing with a friend in the morning, and we both agreed it was about the equal best live-set both of us had witnessed (equal with Matthew Jonson at Earthcore). Babicz went everywhere, from ambient, to acid, to minimal. It was kind of like variations on a theme at some points as he brought back elements he'd played earlier, and tweaked and layered them.
It was very busy, but i managed to find a spot in the corner to bop away which i did for most of the night. Locals were absolutely spot on also. Slieker put in his standard near-perfect set, Keitel was perfect following up from Babicz (the way he adapts to ever situation is the mark of a class DJ) and the fact that we went until just before 7am proves how good Dallas' closing set was.
Props to those who came and said hello when i was out back in the suite early. The Suite had a great vibe to it all night which was good to see.
Congrats Shane & Somacorp for a fantastic party (and thanks for having me along for the ride). Next stop - Local Extracts #2!!!

FRESH FROM SOMA CORP
Robert Babicz "A Night In Melbourne" released on Treibstoff
Inspired by his time in Melbourne and the sold-out 'Blow Your Own Way' event run by Soma Corp at FFour on Queen's Birthday Eve, Robert Babicz stayed up all night in his hotel room whilst here to write a beautiful new track entitled "A Night In Melbourne" that has just been released on CD (and forthcoming 12") as part of iconic German minimal label Treibstoff Recording's 10th Year Birthday!
Also interviewed in the recent edition of hot German music magazine DVD 'Slices', many have noted that the only poster on the wall in his entire studio is the 'Blow Your Own Way' poster for said event.
Here at Soma Corp we'd like to express our gratitude to Robert for his appreciation, inspiration and sincerity... all the more humbled are we that such a gesture has come from such a legendary figurehead and pioneer as Robert, we have nothing but a world of respect for him - and anyone at the event that night still talks in excited tones of his performance. For those whom like their announcements early, we will be launching Robert's second Australian tour in November 2008 with a planned Melbourne return pencilled for Cup Eve a year from now.
Those interested can hear the track mentioned on Robert's My Space page, purchase the track and/or compilation on CD or 12" from your favourite music retailer over the coming weeks, and a news piece for the Treibstoff release is also included.
