pearl harbor has got to be one of the worst movies i've ever seen. and the rest of michael bay's movies are big on action and thin on plot, character exposition, depth. armageddon was ok, but only something i'd watch once. i dunno, michael bay's movies are like disposable happy meals. cheap and temporarily filling, but definitely not food for thought.
but cmon man, comparing Armageddon/PearlHarbor with Evangelion? even you must attest to the comparison. it's not even comparing apples and oranges, it's more like comparing tropicana (evangelion) to orange colored koolaid (michael bay's gargage).
there's filler in every genre, which even anime is subject to (i watch alot of filler to find the diamonds in the rough).
