in fact i JUST saw a thing on a news type show that had hardened criminals on there. they ALL said that they are more afraid of a civillian with a gun than a cop! why? because they know the cops have guns. they have no clue if you have a gun or even know how to use it well. and you have the element of surprise a lot of times if they are robbing your house.

lol proven statistics. Do you truely believe that? you guys truely are on another planet.

Err...what?

I am against banning guns, but that statement is false, even if we ignore international comparisons and focus just on the U.S. Have a look at violent crime offenses by state:

http://www.statehealthfacts.org/cgi...+Crime+Offenses

Then look at gun ownership by state:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-sr.../ownership.html

Lots of intersection between high gun ownership and high violent crime...

average % for all 50 states = 38.4
average % for the 5 with the most frequent violent crime = 27.16
average % for the 5 with the least frequent violent crime = 43.96

Not saying that that's definitive, but it certainly doesn't seem to support your theory.

^fucking idiot. wheres some of the worst crime in the USA? Washington DC. where is it that some of the harshest gun control has happened? Washington DC. ALL of the RIGHT TO CARRY states have a lower violent crime than the states that arent. want me to find MANY MANY articles and statistics showing this? its not hard. im VERY VERY anti gun control. as i stated earlier HARDENED CRIMINALS said it themselves, that they are MORE afraid of ME, a gun toting citizen than a fucking cop. why? FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN! you dont KNOW if i have a gun or not. you dont KNOW if i am a good shot. you dont KNOW what kind of gun i have. you dont KNOW if i have a high explosive round. criminals dont want to die. they are out for self preservation and instant gratification. hence why they carry a gun.

Looking more closely at the stuff I linked, it looks like I was wrong. I am wrong sometimes (rarely), and I can recognize it without somebody throwing a little hissy-fit at me.

Moving on...

I compiled the stats to reflect gun ownership (descending order) vs. violent crime rates and homicide rates:

PHP:

Nat'l avg. violent crime rate: 469.2 / 100,000 inhabitants

Avg. violent crime rate for top 25 gun-owning states: 361.684

Avg. violent crime rate for bottom 25 gun-owning states: 441.536

[If anybody is wondering, the national rate is thrown off by the inclusion of D.C. on the original page.]

Avg. murder rate for top 25 gun-owning states (2004): 4.404 / 100,000

Avg. murder rate for bottom 25 gun-owning states (2004): 4.764 / 100,000

[Homicide stats come from here: http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0004912.html]

So gun ownership in the U.S. has a pretty strong negative correlation with violent crime in general, and a small negative correlation with homicide.

I don't get why you're all sobbing over this shit, why would you feel bad for a fucking punk who wants to either rob or hurt you?

They should have thought about what they were doing before they tried robbing people. Karmas gonna catch up to you sooner or later, for this idiot it caught up very early.

Another idiot with an illegal weapon off the streets. In the same instance if you have a gun pointed at your face and you're being threatened by some snotty punk you don't think, your mind surely races and you don't know what to do. This man simply defended himself, you don't know what the kid would do, even if he didnt have bullets; the 50+ year old didnt know that. People dont give a shit for one another these days.
