You know, one of these days you may very well have easily lost control of a ride with such a high centre of gravity. But yeah, all fun

I've seen people pull some pretty stupid stunts while in trucks and SUVs. Honestly, I wish they had a place where all of them could go, on a pure straightaway, allow them to speed up 200, then lead them into a blind corner. YAY, now that would be fun.

Bottom line, we all speed. THe highway speeds in Canada are unrealistic, at least outside of major urban areas. Increasing the speed limit inside major cities would be folish, simply out of the sheer volume of vehicles. But outside of these areas, forcing people to conform to a ludicrous speed limit is just a cash grab, as mentioned elsewhere in this thread. But even with all that, I just can't ever agree with anyone taking their car in the 170+ km/h range just for kicks on public roads. You think you're so macho, go take your fucking Ford to a track, and have at it there. There are plenty of clubs all around toronto that will set up regular track meets.

Dood like Mark T mentioned earlier you just dont sit in ur car or suv and just go nutts ,you for a fact show be aware of your surroundings and do it in a way where you can control it.

I have been driving for about 6 yrs now and i know whats dangerous and whats sometimes okay to do

I guess what Canadians (or Ontarians specifially) are lacking is defensive or considerate drive. What I mean by that is what zokissima was saying before, people here like hogging left lanes, they don't yield for people passing them. Or some people just drive really slow on right lanes which would slow down the flow of traffic overall.

When I drove to Minnesota last week (15 hour drive, across 4 states) every state I drove in, 95% of the cars were driving on the right lane on a two lane freeway. People only went on the right when they want to pass people and even after the pass they go back to right lane. Also the speed limit there is about 120 KM/H so I guess they don't feel the need to speed past that. Me being from Toronto and used to the left lane being a lot faster than right lane I was in the left lane for a good 2-3 hours before anyone got in my way while I was going 150 (I can only get fined for speeding, no demerit points in the US )

-people in europe are much better drivers
-its tougher to get a license there afaik
-less women drivers
-roads there are wayy better and safer at high speeds
-we got to many n00b drivers on the roads
-16+ drivers that would abuse it

No, there's something they're lacking that we have: thousands of immigrant drivers with virtually no training, many with black-market or nonexistent licenses, and extremely lax enforcement of all road rules except for speeding.

There may also be some non-demographic factors in Europe; for example, gas is much more expensive (except where there are price controls), and it's easier in many parts to get where you want via public transportation than it is to drive, so people are less likely to drive unless they really need to. A lot of the people you see hogging the left lane are slackers or stoners who really don't care where they're going or when they get there.

6:30am is shift change, so any stretch of road at that time is good for enhanced defensive driving :P

I was going thru it and saw this: At intersections never assume that you have the right of way.

geez thats one of the most annoying things, a car sits at an intersection and is too "affraid" to cross it after a stop. Fucking up everyone's rythm.

Driving comes down to getting with the flow, be it to speed up when entering a highway (NOT 60kmh), switching lanes when there's about two-three cars lenghts space during rush hour (no one will stop for ya and flip the red carpet), waiting for everyone to completely halt at a stop before engaging (fucking annoying), changing lanes when your speed is too slow, driving at the same speed as other vehicles next to ya ( 105kmh would be above speed limit ), man i could go on and on... and most of these people are either asian, very old people, black or the worst old black woman ( i die ).

Also, driving Sundays is the most annoying thing ever, because those hippies who never use their cars during the week, get to drive it on sunday... everything is slower and defensive.
