Oh yea I have another related neighbor story involving my mom lol

We have these neighbors and they are an Indian family (like from India) and the mother doesn’t really speak English and it’s just her and her husband and their little girl who is like 1 or 1 and half probably. I’m not even joking when I tell you that this little girl is quite possibly the most breath taking thing I’ve ever seen. She has these enormous brown eyes and her hair is always in these little barettes and her smile melts u. She’s always giggling, she’s so cute. My mom and I literally attack them every time we see them taking her for walks. Lol I always run up and play with her.

Anyway, so they don’t seem THAT friendly, but I think it’s just the language barrier. Well the other day my mom told me that she was getting home and the lady was outside and she motioned for my mom to come into her house and my mom was just like, “umm ok” and smiled and went in her house. And the lady couldn’t speak English but she kept motioning to my mom like, “sit here please” and brought her some tea and my mom was just like sitting on her couch like, “uhh…” she didn’t know what was going on. Then this other lady shows up (another Indian lady) and she spoke perfect English and she explained to my mom that our neighbor has always wanted to talk to her, but she can’t, and she has been wanting to invite my mom over to sit down and have tea, but she doesn’t know how to ask us.

I thought that was so cool. I always thought that maybe we scared them cuz we’re like obsessed with their daughter, but I guess she likes us. The father is nice too but he's always working, but he speaks some English.

Mine are a mix of faceless, upper middle class, cashed up white trash arseholes mostly.
All the same cars, fashion, cosmetic surgeon, bleached tips in the 30-45year DINK or 2.5kids bracket, they're the Joneses and they're fiercely competitive about maintaining their little status. They do enjoy talking about me apparently, for awhile when I had dreads they thought "hmm, mixed blood, foreigner, drives nice car, runs around at all hours, looks like she has a lot of money... oh must be a drug dealer."

That would have been funny and a brush off any other day, except some dim bulb decided to call into some 1800DOBINADEALER number and the rozzers came around and pulled my house to pieces at 6am one Sunday morning which I didn't think was particularly funny at all.
Least they didn't find my guns I suppose, all very apologetic about it and they had nothing really to pin on me and had been under surveillance for a few weeks, all for nothing.
(Not the first time, good going former associates from my teens... such is life)

It basically did it for me, this means war.
I call the water authority on fairly much all of them for wasting water, (they get fined out the ass for wasting it) I point out property defects to the council for renovations that probably don't have approval. I crank out really loud music at all hours when it's quasi-legal to do so and have a loan of a very, very noisy turbocharged car which sounds like an earthquake on idle and rattles windows about a kilometre away when I give it some stick.

I didn't start this, but I'll sure as hell get my pound of flesh by the time it's over... oh yes.

Then there's the kids over the back, mostly Hong Kong student's on visa's going to uni and the tribe of kids (about a dozen or so!) from the housing commission who have plastic tricycles and roam the streets terrorising most everyone by screaming and rattling around until all hours. The people over the back are students and like I've mentioned before, they like to practice making babies, which wouldn't be so bad if they where not so damn noisy about (and I mean noisy!) and and utterly fecund. It's sort of embarrassing to have people over, because you just never know when it's going to start

Better half thinks all this is utterly hilarious seeing me getting all worked up over revenge with 'you're smart, why can't you use it for good and reconciliation'... the answer to that is 'evil has more fun'. Frankly, sometimes it's better not to know your neighbours, chances are they're bastards.

Oh yea I'm also very close to our other neighbors, but they live a few doors down. They are a young couple (late 20’s early 30’s) and they rock. The girl is from Ireland and she can pound back booze like it’s no ones business and her husband is fuckin hilarious. We always dog sit for each other and when I let our dogs out back to run around and play, my dog always runs up to their patio and looks in for their dog (a girl). It’s my dog’s girlfriend.

So yea, I’m close with them and I know the Indian people, but everyone else, I have no clue who my neighbors are, but that’s mainly because a few of them moved recently. Oh and the only reason why I became pretty tight with my neighbors was because of Hurricane season a couple of years ago. We all sort of had to come together and share food and water and stuff. I got wasted every night with the young couple and we played board games with candle light and drinking games and stuff, it was fun.


hmm, I guess I AM kinda friendly with my neighbors. Nevermind. lol

we're good friends with the people across the street, hang out with them and our daughter babysits their two daughters.
the couple in the house next to them are cool too- they're next door quite a bit.

there is a small apartment building next to our house. know a few of them, especially an old lady that maintains a flower garden- she's
"good people".

the house behind ours has a wonderful older couple, they will do just about anything for you.


i feel quite lucky, i have lived in places where people were not so friendly, to say the least.
