The problem (and the reason this debate always ends up heated) is that the tiny difference in features between Pioneers CDJ's dont' justify their HUGE difference in price.

There was NO reason they couldn't have added .02% pitch resolution to the CDJ-800 MK2, the only reason they didn't was to entice people to buy the 1000.

If the 1000 offered some more features, they could justify $1100 for a CD player.

Not that I would recommend buying one, but look at the Numark iCDX... it offers the ability to play of CD's, flash devices, hard drives, and has integrated Serato linkup (no timecode CD's). Features like that just "make sense" in todays digital world.

Fair enough. But the 2 years I had CDJ 1000s, I never saved my cue points with the memory card, or loops. So I just didn't find it useful. Finding cue points isn't that difficult, esp if you know your tunes and cue up sooner rather than later.

It's more designed for scratch DJ's/turntablist I think.

Yeah and that's my point. If you just mix, you don't need anything more than TTs with Serato, Traktor DJ studio or CDJ 200s, or even a dual CD player. Vinyl emulation, although it might feel more natural when cueing and pitch bending (esp if your coming from TTs, which I was, but just mixed), isn't neccessary to cue tracks or even pitch bend. If you have 0.02 pitch, like the 200s have, and a decent (though small) jog-wheel to cue tracks, and the ability to press play...that's all you need. So my point, is that the 1000 is a waste of money, alot of money, if you don't scratch or do fancy turntablist type stuff. If you do that stuff, on top of mixing tracks, then it's perfect.

I mean sure with the CDJ 1000s, you have all of the extra fancy features, but for mixing (esp in CDJ mode) it's no different than on CDJ 200s (no WAVE display or that display in the middle of the platter that helps you cue, but you should be able to cue with your ears, cause TTs don't have anything like that).
