Holy shit people, back the fcuk off!
It does not matter what piece of gear he used to DJ with, its the music, the vibe, its about getting the dancefloor to move. I think beatmatching is a curse of low-tech technology the DJ has to deal with. I would love to forget about beatmatching and to spend more time enjoying the music, dancing around, reading the crowd, thinking which track to play next, and just having a great time. I would love to have a simple software that would beatmatch the cue track for me, and properly auto-cue it so it starts perfectly on beat. Also, not having to look through a book of CD's or a crate of vinyl would be awesome too. Now, before you start telling me to learn how to beatmatch, I have been playing on vinyl and CDJ's for a coulple of years now. I have learned to baetmatch using vinyl only. No BPM counters, no auto-cueing, just simple 2 channel mixer and two decks. That's it. But even though i embrace new technology, i absolutely love the idea of playing a set using nothing but vinyl. To show up to the club with nothing but a crate of records and headphones.
