Taking the ride in space does not neccessarily mean you travel through time as the universe is infinite. I also love the concept ala Einstein that if one were to travel close to the speed of light out into space for even just a few "earth years" they would return to find that the "time" elapsed on the Earth to be much greater. Makes you take a second look at the human concept of "time."

t3h twin's paradox. But you will never experience relativistic events in your real life, hence it is difficult to appreciate the concept of "time" unless you are dealing with that kind of physics.
