I might buy this stuff, this thor synth looks great and I can still buy it for student price for some weeks. 1 question: can you create a track in cubase and assign it to a rewired reason synth like thor? So you do all the midi stuff in cubase and the synth work in reason.

In your Reason rewire interface in Cubase, you select which audio inputs you have coming through to Cubase. It's a bit of a hassle though - the first two are treated as a stereo pair, the rest are mono inputs. So you'd set up two Cubase channels and pan them left and right to get a stereo instrument in. In terms of MIDI, there'll be a drop down list with all the devices in the Reason rack, so you'd just select the relevant Thor synth, then it'll send the MIDI notes over and control it.

Question to the beta testers.

How is Thor? Are the sounds more warmer than the subtractor? and how does it do with the pad/string sounds? Is it compareable to any existing VST?

thanks

I found / find thor to be quite amazing. Haven't tried much synthesis with it, but can only assume its great potential because many of the pre-made patches are superb....much warmer than the subtractor...as to other vsts, I don't really know to be honest.

Actually, it is possible to link the mono channels into stereo pairs by pressing alt while you activate a channel. If you use Cubase SX3 that is, it seems to be missing in Cubase 4 for some reason.
