heh, i dont think trance will die...certainly many of us think like that, because trance has evolved for the past couple of years..i personally think that the gold era of trance was in 96-99, now too many artist sound too cheesy when you listen to the sets from those days and listen to the sets now, you start thinking, wtf is this shit trance has become more mainstreamed, not that type of underground logo as it use to have

For those of you that didn't vote Trance Forever.... I just have one question for you.... WHY ARE YOU ON A WEBSITE CALLED TRANCEADDICT WHEN YOU DON'T LIKE TRANCE??? It doesn't make sense. Why don't you go to a website that promotes the music you like? If I wasn't into trance, then I would have never visited this site.

It's not the music that will die, but it's people's taste that change. I go through phases of listening to different music, but I always do come back to trance.

Sadly, and regardless of how much I love it, trance will die.
Maybe not anytime soon, but it will.
I reckon it peaked 1999-2000, and has been on a slow (so slow that's it's barely noticable) decline.

There's some thing that people must take into account, there is a finite amount of sounds that can be trance, and eventually, they will all have been used.
I have heard a lot tracks recently that sound SO similar to much older ones, that I mistook them for remixes.
There are only so many melodies that can be created....

Who are you to say that it will die ? And the number of sounds is infinitive, I feel that trance is still as good as it was back in 98-99, just the sound and style has slightly altered across different genres

Yes I think trance will be infinite while there's people to listen to it. Just comparing it to rock or pop music for instance. Whattahell, I am fucking tired of all those old guitar, drums, bass and vocals in the same boring style always the same but it doesn't stop the industry to produce that whole lot of swill every single year and still have tons of garage bands climbing onboard to play. People don't get that everything is repetitive in a way, and even then we get refresh new extraordinary things every year. I get so mad when people say that electronic music is repetitive and soon it will be depleted of new songs. What lack of imagination and undestanding! Do you think that for every single song we have to invent a new 8 by 8???? A closer example, that I already refered to, is House. How old is that and it rocks still!

TRANCE FOREVER

Yeah I know...it's very annoying to hear people say that trance is repetitive when you have to look at all music. What is it? Repitition!!! You play notes and repeat them. Trance works just that way. And since most trance is instrumental totally that's why people hear the repetition better. If you took out the vocals of a rock/pop track there would be the same repition. Now if a person who listens to rap comes up to you and says that trance is too repetitive and monotonous...oh boy have they got it comin at em. Take out the "vocals" in a rap track and you have the most annoying monotonous CRAP in the world!!!!!! And what is it these days with pop!!!! There's absolutly no feeling in that whatsoever!!! It's so damn boring!!!!! How do people listen to Britney SPears and Janet Jackson and N'sync. They're all just horrible!!! So I rest my case!!!

There may have been less good tunes this year but nevertheless, trance will survive for quite some time. I'm waiting for it to return back to the golden years of 98/99.
