at the end of the day DJing and playing an instrument are alot more similar than it seems. Both take an extraordinary amount of time, practice, and dedication.
It also takes some balls to get on stage/booth in front of however so many given people and perform, not matter what your doing.
As for playing an instrument being physical, I disagree completely. You could practice a song 1000 times, but once you get on stage infront of a crowd, it is up to the individual to mentaly take hold of their hands, and do what they KNOW they can do, withouth choking under the spotlight.
As for DJing, you could say it is equally as difficult, because you are performing for a crowd that is there to dance. If you're not playing records people dig, crowd reaction will be shit, and you fail miserably, until you figure out what the crowd wants
Ultimately, both are the same, but different in the respective skill sets needed. I give props to performers either way. Their getting out there and actually DOING something!
