Your fund seems to be anchored to the indices... which have been spinning their wheels for the last 3 months. (i'm picking on you, because you are the only person with graphs )

Quick dump everything for new stocks before Laz leap frogs over you with his "smart" strategy!

If I could bloody upload a screenshot (imageshack and photobucket don't like BMPs I guess), it would show my positions. I have about 13, and only one of them is tied to an index. That would be VTI, Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund, which is tied to the S&P500. Different economics theories suggest that is impossible to beat the market, though that won't stop me from trying. So, i added this one index fund so if I can't beat the market, at least I'll get some of what the market gets.

So I've filled out five "buy" orders from the "buy wizard" but nothing seems to be happening. Is there a reason for this?

Right now all of them are sitting as "open orders".

The market is closed for the 4th of July.

Remember people, when you place a trade, it does not execute until the market is open, or unless it is open. Your trades will execute as soon as the market opens Thursday at 9.30AM.

On another note, the reason the indexes swing wildly when they first open is because all the off-hours trades are being executed all at once.

Tomorrow is Non-Farm Payrolls.. I think it will be better than forecasts..

Also from what I read, US economy is at the bottom of its cycle and Housing market is the leading indicator.. housing market recovers, the economy booms .. so I am keeping a close eye on US housing market right now..

Also if I upload my last three months trading chart than that will dwarf that performance chart above.. I love to boost about.. lol..

I'd be watching houseing too, except I don't think it's bottomed. I'm pretty certain that the high risk loans (or sub-prime if you are a banker in 2004 trying not to scare people) are only begining to shake out.

Family incomes are stressed by stagnat wages, raising (or raised) intrest rates, and inflation in food and gas prices.

The fed for it's part is stuck. If wages rise to meet the increased costs of living brought on by the new (as of 6 months) intrest rates, high food prices, and high gas prices; monetary policy will be unable to compensate by raising inrtest rates. The fed can't afford to saddle the highly debt ridden US economy with higher costs of borowing to combat inflation.

The fed has two choices...

Raise rates to kill inflation and stop the slide in the value of the dollar...

or cut rates to save the housing market and prevent recession..

Personally I think they are going to try to create another artificial "boom" by cutting rates and letting the dollar die.

Roll those printing presses. We have an election coming up!

LOL - nice last line.

Incredibly concise and exactly what I see happening.

Not to mention printing more dollars makes outstanding debt to other countries that much less painful.

TGA is becoming my darling stock. Bought it around $4.00. I'm really liking what it's doing for me in real life money. I've made %20 from TGA in reall profits. But, one of my cardinal rules is never to "fall in love" with a stock, so emotions aside, the stock even with its gains is still a great value.

Do the members who joined via the Cor know about this thread?
Perhaps a note mentioning it where you wrote,

"Remember to follow the compliance rules so your fund can be ranked. Mutual fund are required to follow several rules, and so this website applied the same to this mutual fund game."
