Personally I prefer the original to both, but that's irrelevant. It doesn't sound particularly like either of them, and it does do something new with the track.

There seem to be plenty of people who disagree with you there.

In this thread, only Rebel9 has stated it does nothing previous mixes haven't already done. There've been some negative comments, but none for that reason.

Your failure is in assuming TranceAddict.com is the only thing I read in a given day, or that TA's are the only people involved with dance music with whom I interact.

And if we really need someone else to say it, I'll go ahead and say it too: this mix really doesn't seem to do anything all that new or interesting with Heaven Scent.

That was your failure, the failure to communicate who exactly you were talking about. I didn't state anything about the word of anyone outside of this thread, and by not doing so I was prompting you to reveal who exactly you are speaking for.

Not on the scale of trance in general, but within the territory of previous mixes of Heaven Scent. It's more energetic and up-tempo than any previous mix, which means it will fit into sets it previously did not. Besides, whether you deem it "interesting" is irrelevant, because neither I nor Rebel9 said anything about how interesting it was.

Nor, to pre-empt a likely reply, is it relevant whether or not a more energetic, modern remix of Heaven Scent is needed or a good thing. I was specifically replying to a quote that said "This track adds nothing to the old mixes", which I'm contesting. Whether it's good or bad, I think it quite clearly adds something.

Jesus you are a sad, sad individual to sit here and nitpick as much as you do.

Next time I'll make sure not to even acknowledge how weak and objective the argument "it adds something" is.

Sean Tyas adds a harder kick to nearly everything and not a person with half a clue give s a fuck.

I like the part that sounds like the original. That's about it.

Shit analogy and shit argument, because "harder kick" and "fits into sets it previously did not" do not equate.

It's not even as if this is just like a previous mix sped up slightly. If you're going to say "I think this track is crap", then say that, but don't fabricate criticisms of it to give your argument validity.

And I'd be quite happy for you not to acknowledge my arguments when they have nothing to do with your posts, because it is tedious to watch you try the smart-ass act.

I've never felt this was more appropriate to post than now:

And you can fuck right off with your "fabricated criticism"

Nice try though. You're excellent at sounding smart on the internet.

Right. So you find me tedious. Didn't expect anything else, given your attitude towards me. Stop acknowledging my posts then, like you suggested, because it seems you have nothing you love doing more than getting pedantic with someone you think is a sad, sad individual.

Compelling argument. "Fuck off, and you're stupid". Can you stop replying now?

I do, however, think it's odd they'd choose to come out and say "Hey, we're not so sure this record isn't shit, but we'll release it because loads of folks will pay to hear it."

As lame as I think it is of them to actually go and release a track because of that (I laughed pretty hard out loud when I read that), I do like how they're admitting they're doing it for cash instead of releasing shit material while hiding behind fake, promotional bullshit and claiming it's a great track.

Edit:

And as far as the actual track goes, it sounds like the structure is the exact same, but the bassline some of the synths/percs have just been altered a bit. I'll stick with the original.

Do you think that damages the credibility of future releases on Bedrock Records in any way (I don't know if I do or not, it's just a question)?

I guess I don't really see the difference between the two - sure it's neat of them to go ahead and say what they're doing as blatantly as they are, but at the end of the day it's still a tune that Bedrock clearly didn't feel confident in releasing on its own musical merits.

Like I said, business is business - but I still think it's a bit disappointing to see something like this occur.
