he played nothing commercial at all at Guv. Straight up Electro House. Most of which I'd never heard before.

It was also the busiest Saturday I'd seen in a while, and judging by the way people were acting on the dance floor, the haters are by far in the minority.

So just because you didn't enjoy his music, means it was complete shit and that no person should or did like it? To be honest if you were any real music enthusiast, you would respect other sounds, and not just the ones you like. Different strokes for different folks right... there is no need to bash him just because it isn't your kind of music. Obviously a lot of other people enjoyed it. Maybe you are the one who should remove himself from the forums until you get off your throne, and think you know everything about music.

I didn't go but have seen him at his first and second appearance at the Guv.

The first time was when his tracks were on rotation on the radio, so he didn't disappoint the crowd. The second time, he only played one of his known tracks, Illusion, and that was it. Many that time were hoping to hear his classics, so those were dissapointed. Just like those dissapointed at This is London on his last visit. He's still spinning his productions and co-prods, but he won't spin any of his old stuff until his music is labeled retro one day.

...oh yeah... Gionos everywhere each time.... they drink, they get drunk, they fight, they get thrown out, and whatever's left of them, they're out of the Guv at the last call b4 2 a.m.

+1. I was totally impressed that he didn't drop radio edits of I love my sex and illusion and the like...I know half the people there were only there to say they saw Benny B spin satisfaction live. I was there for the whole experience, and I got it. If you dont like crummy sound, find a zone in the club without interference. If you dont like different kinds of music, then get some decks and spin for yourself (then you'll REALLY only hear the stuff you like lol). And if you don't like being shoulder to shoulder or waiting in line forever, obviously dont go to see a big name in a big club.

I had a good time.

Okay, let me break this down for you a bit.

Who are the most respected names in fashion? Culinary arts? Visual arts? Are these names directly related to the level of education, insight and inspiration that these individuals went through to obtain the ability to create beautiful works that the world enjoys and appreciates? YES.

As a child, I played two instruments to a national level. My good friend played piano concertos for crowds of over 500 and he spins EDM. We have what you say a very strong appreciation for music that spreads over MANY genres.

It's not so much a throne that I'm on but I stand behind music as an art form and there are WAY TOO MANY FUCKING ASSHOLES that have no appreciation for music and all they want to do is turn a profit off of people like you.

Read JOOF's comments on this. They parallel those of mine.

bro.. it's dance music.

if you take it as seriously as classical music then you need to do everyone a favour and stop listening to it, and stop going out to club, cause you're ruining the fun for everyone else.

i never knew they had national skin flute competitions.

ps. you sound like a jackass that thinks he knows it all.

you're one of those people that think its only cool if an artist stays "underground". as much as i hate seeing good house music being ruined by radio stations like z103, in the end it is still a business. any artist would be happy to know that their song has hit the mainstream market because that is the only way to really survive. would an artist be happier to know that he/she is selling to thousands or millions of people rather than hundreds? i think so.

as far as benny's set is concerned, i think he did alright. his mixing wasnt the greatest as i heard him fuck up a couple times but he did recover quickly and he did have a good track selection. and from what i could see from the stage, EVERYONE was having a great time so you were probably the only person crying about it in a dark corner.

Do you realise how much time and energy goes into making the tracks that get you into the club every weekend?? Producers are still very much making music for music's sake - but to overlook the hours that go into it, and to pigeonhole them into greedy 'fucking assholes' is way off base. Just because they love what they do, shouldn't negate the fact they should be compensated for their WORK.

And that was J00F's opinion - I doubt he's sat down with the majority of the EDM-making community and actually polled them on it. In fact, the response to that blog has been quite the contrary.
