Where do I start about last night?
Got there around 12 and there was a line up to the corner. Had to pay off the Euro-fuck door guy to skip the line and immediately get in. No problem.
Once inside it is already slam-packed at 12. Very nice crowd indeed. Lots of beautiful friendly girls as always @ Mansion, very good vibe, and no trouble makers.
As for the new dancefloor, I call BS. They still have a shit load of VIP tables stage front. As the saying goes, "you can rearrange the furniture [deckchairs] on the Titanic, but it is still the Titanic." So be it.
The opener was Chicco Sucky, I mean Secci. Guy knows how to mix, but he drops too much garbage, only a few good tracks in there. Then at about 1:20 Tiesto finally shows up and drops his first track. He started with good tracks but his first 20 minutes or so he was all over the place, lost, going from vocal to tech and back??? Then he got his shit together and played a little better for about an hour, but still couldn't convince me. He did drop a lot of trance burners right at the end, but it was way too little too late. It seems he just goes through the motions up there.
In summary Tiesto has gone to shit. Last time I saw him @ Mansion in January was the worst set I ever heard from him. This was a little better, yet not much. You would expect a lot more from someone of his stature, making a reported $75K for last night. His set lacked any direction or flow whatsoever. He does not know how to build up a room for shit anymore, much less blow it up. Everyone there was wanting to go off so bad, yet the tired fuck couldn't pull it off. Half the time he was up there DJing (if U can call it that) he had his back turned to the crowd while he was talking to his boyfriends all up his ass on stage. Look I give 3 shits if a DJ looks at the crowd or not, but when the lack of attention or of giving a fuck results in crap then I take issue. BTW at 4:30 Sucki took over the decks abruptly????
Bottom line is PVD blows this clown away. There is no comparison. PVD's last set @ Space was 10000000000000000000000000000000000 times better than the crap Tiesto threw last night. I guess LP made a good call on letting Tiesto go and keeping PVD.
