I don't think he was saying that people were lame for smoking weed, per se, but that it's pretty fucking weak to have a day especially designated to it. It's not like it's a civil rights movement - it's a bloody joint, the whole point is that it isn't a big deal, so this whole "weed day" shit kind of goes shooting way past the ethos that goes along with most recreational drug use.

Plus it's just very british to dislike organised subversiveness (for british, read sensible). Weed day is like the 'MTV in Ibiza' of drug events - it's almost like the real thing, except it's crap commercial shite that was created for geeky 15 year-old losers with no friends in the world except for their mums.

i get what you mean. ive never really followed the whole tradition either. i wasnt looking at it like that...its just something that really baked people created to they had an excuse to smoke more. kinda like plur - only maybe a little less misguided. at least smokers dont pretend its a really valid cause, well at least most of the time! late/

it's mostly an excuse to skip school. people always skip the friday before may two four, 420, and pretty much any standard holiday. it is a bs tradition, but u might as well have fun with it, pot smokers don't have anything else.

and about the DJ thing... who gives a fuck.... do you think it's really going to influence kids that negatively? they're probably all coked up already or on e or whatever.hitting a b on stage is nothing. I agree that kids shouldn't be exposed to drugs until they reach a suitable level of conciousness, but you can't go around being a priss about something as small as that.... (if someone else already stated this, then I wholeheartedly agree, not reading through thread tho, heh)

It is a civil liberties thing, I mean how would you feel if they banned alcohol? People's lives are being ruined because of nazi like law enforcement and harsh penalties for even possesing weed. Its insanity, and this 4/20 is another tool to fight for the cause of legalization... Its there to bring attention to it, look at what people are up against, the government using propoganda against drugs during the superbowl.

You have to understand that even though I personally don't smoke hardly ever, I still am willing to fight for others right to smoke a joint. Because I feel wasting billions on imprisoning people for weed offences is one of the worlds biggest jokes/tradgedies... People are going to JAIL for this, and 4/20 is a reaction/movement to have people all over the world show their support for the movement.

This isn't no big deal, its huge, if you knew someone in jail for being caught with an ounce of weed, you'd probably feel the same...

Rent the documentary Grass, which is narrated by Woody Harellson ... Highly recommended, it shows how stupid the American anti-marijuana movement is...

I don't see why any DJ would bother smoking weed during a set,
It isn't exactly a danceDrug now is it.
Unless hes a softhouse dj! LOL

Imitation benders I think the word for that is.

But personally I don't see anything wrong with certain uppers,
certainly no worse than Cigs or acohol.

Fair enough, I don't know what it's like in America, but I was trying to point out why (from a british perspective) it seems a little tired. If there really are harsh laws against it over there, whereas here they are about to virtually legalise it, I can see how your view would differ.

Well, I know I spin and create music much better when I'm high. lol.

As for the DJ's, they should be able to do what they want. I mean, if a DJ smoking a bowl is gonna make you want to smoke a bowl, then you would do it at some point anyway. If you are really that damn impressionable, then that DJ wouldn't make a difference. If they want to do whatever, then who cares?

And I know I celebrated 4/20! lol. I went to a freind's baseball game at 10:30 AM and they people I went with passes bowls around while we were driving on the interstate. Worst part is, we were not the only ones we saw doing it! lol. I smoked all damn day on Sat. lol.

And yeah, the laws are very harsh against it here, I think thats why so many people do it! I live in one of the weed capitols of Florida, most of the town smokes, really. I dunno.

And for those of you who do other drugs and then shit on weed. HAHA! We'll see who dies first! lol, j/k!
