| quote: | | but that it's pretty fucking weak to have a day especially designated to it. It's not like it's a civil rights movement - it's a bloody joint, the whole point is that it isn't a big deal, so this whole "weed day" shit kind of goes shooting way past the ethos that goes along with most recreational drug use. |
It is a civil liberties thing, I mean how would you feel if they banned alcohol? People's lives are being ruined because of nazi like law enforcement and harsh penalties for even possesing weed. Its insanity, and this 4/20 is another tool to fight for the cause of legalization... Its there to bring attention to it, look at what people are up against, the government using propoganda against drugs during the superbowl.
You have to understand that even though I personally don't smoke hardly ever, I still am willing to fight for others right to smoke a joint. Because I feel wasting billions on imprisoning people for weed offences is one of the worlds biggest jokes/tradgedies... People are going to JAIL for this, and 4/20 is a reaction/movement to have people all over the world show their support for the movement.
This isn't no big deal, its huge, if you knew someone in jail for being caught with an ounce of weed, you'd probably feel the same...
Rent the documentary Grass, which is narrated by Woody Harellson ... Highly recommended, it shows how stupid the American anti-marijuana movement is...
