Thank you guys for all your comments and suggestions.

I browsed through the "headphone thread" and read a few comments/reviews. I ended up doing more researched on the Sony MDR-7506, read more reviews online and went to my local music store and tried the headphone, well I love the headphone so I purchased it

I'm glad you've found a good pair of headphones. The Sony MDR-7506 are very well known, and has alot of fans. Personally I haven't tried them, but I have the impression that they are quite ok. But if you said price didn't matter - you sure didn't climb far up in the ladder at all, my friend :P I also started at the bottom..And then I got curious..started to climb higher. And suddenly I purchased all the good headphones I could find. Though, I dind't go all the way with the most expensive from Grado and Stax of course. Heh..That would be madness!!

I've been a member of the largest headphone-forum for over a year now. I was on the look for a good pair of phones, and have finally found my favourites --> Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000. They are very expensive tough..

Comfort --> Sennheiser HD 595
Fun listening --> Grado SR 60 or AKG K81 DJ (neither is expensive)
Basshead --> Beyerdynamic DT770
Detailed listening --> Sony SA5000

All-in-one --> Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000

I mean, you've got to explain better what kind of sound you're after. I personally have owned about 15 headphones, but only have about 5 now. Many people claim the Ultrasone Prolone 750 is the ultimate trance-phones, but I disagree!! I have them, but they never gets used.

Do you like bass? If so - quantity or quality or a mix? Details? Coloured sound? Comfort? Open of closed phones? Are you willing to buy a dedicated headphone-amplifier if you chose to get phones that require that? Let us hear!

Oh, and btw --> I see many has recommended the HD25. It's a nice headphone, but way too expensive compared to other phones. The Grado SR 60 or AKG K81 DJ delivers basically the same sound, if not better! But for one fourth of the price!! Visit head-fi.org and look around

Hi Alexpea,

Very intersting and informative post. Out of interest what is the isolation like on the Grado phones? Personally I'm sticking with the HD25 but I was thinking in terms of what I could recomend to other DJs as it's a frequent question/complaint.

Cheers
Nem

I've been looking around for a bit, since I need to pick up some new ones, and I've got the options narrowed down to a couple models, but I can't find any place to actually try the things out, which seems to be fairly important, especially since one of the ones I'm thinking about is the hd25, about which everyone makes the 'it depends on whether you like the feel or not' comment. So where would I actually be able to get my hands on some of these in person, or are there specific sites with great return policies that I should try? [keep in mind, it's Texas :/]

i'm planning on just going on ebay..

on another note, after reading through this thread i think i decided to go for the hd280 pro's by sennheisser (sp?). just wanted to ask one question beforehand, from the people that own(ed) it, how would you rate it when it comes to comfort? is it heavy? thanks..
