Okay, so we know Paul Van Dyk released a very commercial record called "White Lies", and that Ferry is currently charting pretty high on the Pop charts in Holland with "The Race" (which resembles "Zombie Nation"). Let's hope their current musical evolution doesn't lead them to this:

this track, sung in russian is one of top (s)hits of 16yrold chix in poland:

Granted, as a hardcore PVD and Ferry fan I find these tracks a little disappointing but you have to give them praise for branching out and experimenting a bit.

Riding the fame wave on the same old crap isn't a respect getter in my books.

But I must say I can see why Above & Beyond have been called "the saviours of trance". They are proving that deep, uplifting Trance is still going strong.

That's what I think anyways...and I still love PVD and Ferry!

A&B arnt the "saviours of trance" even though im a massive fan of theirs they arnt doing anything new or innovative But they do showcase a lot of styles and new tracks that the big jocks arnt playing.

I would certainly go see them play a set quicker than i would go see PVD and Ferry these days thats for sure

Okay?

For starters, the quotation marks are there for a reason. A&B have said to be "The saviours of Trance". This was not my direct quote.

And secondly, I didn't say anything about A&B having a brand new sound. In fact I was saying that they were getting back to the soulful and uplifting sounds that I and most Trance addicts love.

I was giving credit to PVD and Ferry for branching out with their styles. I mentioned A&B because I prefer the sounds of "old". I was there for the birth of Trance and have been producing myself since before For An Angel came out. It's nostalgic and, though it sounds like a contradiction, fresh in a way.

I don't know the backgrounds of those who commented but I give kudos to all the major players of the Trance scene for all that they are doing. New sounding or old.

you are confusing. you call A&Bs sound "old". but its not and still you say you were there at the birth of trance. A&B doesn't sound anything like the old trance.

Why are TA members always -labelling- artists with the word Trance. Ferry has always produced electro influenced and pure electro...

Just because he's a big trance name because of some of his productions (under Ferry and other aliases) doesn't mean he has to stick to trance only.

Ferry has never produced electro.

Electro-Trance... Electro-influenced music. Whatever you prefer calling it.

It's not electro-influenced either. Buzzing synths don't make anything electro.
