John 00 Fleming is a fucking clown, and the more people that come to realise this the better.

Probably, but I've never had that problem here...for example when a DJ plays it is generally billed as a DJ set, for example "Hernan Cattaneo (DJ Set)" and when an actual live PA plays it's billed as "Infected Mushroom (Live Act)".

If you think about it, it's the promoter's fault not the performer's...

maybe you were playing vinyl rips, vinyl rips dont work because the tempo tends to wiggle since the motors on turntables arent as exact as cdjs.

Because it's been for ages, that acts that have been promoted as "live" are really performing live and not mixing live. If you go by your definition, then everyone flyers for festivals would have to be announced as live, that would be like

Armin van Buuren (live)
Sono (live)
Northern Lite (live)
Carl Cox (live)

whereas Sono and Northern Lite would be the only 2 to really perform live. I hope you do know what the definition of performing live is

Again, that would be the promoter's fault, not the artist's/DJ's

Live means that the sound is being generated or significantly manipulated on the spot in some way, whether with synths, computers, or "real" instruments.

I.e. not just tracks played back with the tempo tweaked a little and the highs / lows / mids adjusted. A DJ with turntables or CDJs is not "live."

no, i buy all my stuff from beatport. honestly the only time i had an easy time matching tracks (easier than normally, because matching is not exactly rocket science) it was peter pestra tracks becasue they all have the same tempo.

Solution: Stop seeing DJ's who suck at Ableton, like Gabriel & Dresden.
