Yeah, I would do that, but I would do it more like a letter to the store, perhaps to the store manager, and CC it to their superiors - like the headquarters. Also, instead of apologizing, you could be the one asking for clarification from them.

I would definetely go bitch to the store manager or even the corporate office...They owe you a gift card, at least. Yeah, it might be a little dramatic, but just because those people are retards, doesn't mean you have to change your shopping habits.I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I would make sure to get things straight and solve the problem instead of avoiding it.
