I have both, and to be honest, unless you play graphical intensive games, go with the laptop and get a cooling pad for it. You can get a laptop that is a work horse, minus the graphical capability, for reasonable and get some good stereo speakers that will hook into the headphone jack.

The only minus is screen size, which isn't a terrible adjustment. And this is coming from someone that switches from a 22" widesceen to a 15.4" widescreen when I change.

I would get the cooling pad though if it is going to be your primary computer because the single fan that is in most laptops just doesn't cut it when keeping the key components cool.

I would also get a mouse for it. A full size one for when you are using it as a desktop (probably wired to save on purchasing batteries) and a small portable one for travel.

whats the BESY pc brand to buy? HP? DELL? TOSHIBA? or what? :/

Depends on your audio card/ purchased expandable audio card, and price range you are working with.

If you are just listening to music, and aren't an audiophile, any PC laptop should be god. (I would recommend using Linux if you can stand dealing with a different OS or are already familiar with it. I haven't paid for one program since switching to Ubuntu and I can do anything any Windows machine can other than games.)

If you are gaming on it, or you are doing a lot with music production and video editing, something else.

Gaming = desktop PC running Windows

Music/Video = Mac of any kind with lots of RAM.

Work horse for internet, office, and music = PC running Ubuntu or Kubuntu Linux. (Free OS, free application and almost no risk for a virus or spyware)

I LOVE my laptop, and i use it all the time

advantages...take it anywhere, moderately fast, wireless internet and very quiet

disadvantages....prone too overheat and DIE due to over and frequent use

sooooooo just dont save all your banking information and passwords or any other valuable files that you would miss all on one laptop. make sure you back them up somewhere else!

but yea, you should just get your self a powerful laptop, like one of those dell xps laptops.

thats exactly what i have in mind to buy if im going for laptop...

at the moment im really stuck! I want a laptop becuase it take far less space and its portable, but then i wont be getting the same powerful sound and graphic as you do with pc and....it will be unupgradeble which is not too bad if I buy a good laptop. At the moment i give more points to laptop.
