its not about being good. If a dj is high up on the list it means hes popular and popular djs fill clubs so promoters book them makes sense to me.
It means he has a lot of votes. What annoys me is that they take the list seriously when it has been exposed so many times and proven to be a load of rubbish.

Infected Mushroom is only up 3... it's 100% real alright
furthermore:
Armin highest Trance DJ
Digweed highest Prog DJ
Cox highest Techno DJ
Infected Mushroom highest Psytrance DJ's
Guetta highest House DJ
Fedde Le Grand highest New Entry
Axwell highest climber
Andy C highest DnB DJ
Lisa Lashes highest Hard Dance DJ
This list confirms what everyone already knows, the Top 100 is a complete JOKE. The placements are all wrong, some of them are downright laughable.
How the hell can DJ Mag say they were combing through the results this year??? If they sent any of us this list we could have pointed out some very "strange" placements worth investigating. WTF??
The folk over at DJ Mag are desperately clambering to try and restore some credibility to their dying poll so they can keep making money but people see it for what it is, RIDICULOUS.
Has anyone seen the actual mag?? I heard they were gonna name and shame a bunch more DJs, but considering how it blew up in their faces with the last DJs, I doubt they'd have the guts anymore.

I wouldn't be so sure. With their latest album, I'm sure they attracted a whole legion of new fans. In fact, so new that they're uniques to the world of EDM, and thus have the power to propel IM even higher in the ranks:
The moronic metalhead.
(also, having a cover issue in DJ Mag this year probably didn't hurt IM's exposure either)

get off your high horse and consider that its 375,000 different people with different views all voting. The placements arent all wrong or downright laughable. Infact this is the first year I can honestly say the entire chart seems pretty accurate apart from Van Dyk at 4 and Tiesto at 2 (should be the other way round ;p).
Id hardly say the poll is dying - its getting more votes than ever before.
Im not going to reveal the name of the person I got it from because it wouldnt be fair to that person.

They aren't naming or shaming anyone in this number
There are however 345,000 votes (increase of 60%) from 220 countries who voted for a grand total of 89,393 different DJ's
