Suddenly, she stormed off into the kitchen and I heard the telltale sound of a drawer opening, a knife being removed and the drawer slamming shut. I stood up, cornered in his living room.

Now, I learned how to disarm people with edged weapons during my time in the army. I looked her very seriously in the eye and told her that if she came at me with it, she was going to die. Simple as that. She made a small lateral move, which was threatening in it's own right. I got inside her reach, controlled the weapon and using an arm bar and a stout whack to the back of the neck, put her on her knees with a good amount of force. I then left the house and threw the knife on the porch as I went. I feel it was a completely reasonable use of force considering.

Now I tell you, having seen the shit in her eyes, that if put in that same situation again I would most certainly hit a woman. I would punch my own mother in the face if she ever swung a knife at me.

They broke up, by the way.

just a regular guy-girl "verbal debate". She had a temper and slapped me in the face pretty hard. Of course my first instinct was to raise my fist at her but, but I thought better of it, took a deep breath and walked out.
