Trance Indicator heeft een heel vette lead. Die doet me weer wat aan de oude Push-sound denken. Een tikkeletje meer variatie erin had geen kwaad gekund maar overall is de plaat zeer sterk.

De andere 3 zijn maar matig eigenlijk.

Ik moet ze nog eens een paar keer deftig beluisteren, maar echt legendarisch zullen deze platen niet worden denk ik. Trance Indicator lijkt voorlopig wel de topper te zijn.

One is nearly done, and co written by Portland (U.S.) based Elsa Hill. It's a really cool trancer, 132bpm only, and it has the old skool trance feel all over it. Another vocal track i start the coming weekend with a girl named Naomi is very refreshing. She's U.K. based, but she has a voice ..wow..this can be really something big. But i only have a small part of the song ready yet. At the moment i'm doing the mix down of the opening track called "On The First Day". This one can be described as the typical electro trance sound, though with the Push touch all over it. A really cool hard bassline with some dreamy triggering pads. The next weeks i might drop some previews, who knows That's it for now, back to work ...

Enfin, daarbuiten zijn de tracks die voorlopig op het album zullen staan best oké: Trance Indicator, Back To The Essence, Into My Sound Of Music, Voyager, Interference en Dream Designer (oké, iets minder ). Maar ik hoopte echt dat die electrotrance exclusief voor het M.I.K.E. alias was gereserveerd. Maar langs de andere kant, Electro Fever op From Beyond was wel een fantastische plaat...

Uit dat lijstje vind ik alleen Trance Indicator een echte Push track, met dat duistere kantje en een iets rauwere sound. Je moet als producer uiteraard mee evolueren met de tijd, maar ik heb het gevoel dat Mike een beetje pit verloren heeft ten opzichte van vroeger. Het is allemaal wat softer geworden, en niet alleen qua sound. Als je de melodie van Interference vergelijkt met die van Till We Meet Again, dan is er een hemelsbreed verschil. Vooral dat laatste aspect vind ik een beetje jammer. Het is perfect mogelijk om een moderne, afgewerkte sound te hebben en toch veel kracht in je melodie te stoppen, maar die kracht komt er niet echt uit de laatste tijd.

De verwachtingen voor Push liggen natuurlijk altijd een stukje hoger dan bij de andere projecten door het geweldige verleden. Maar dat neemt niet weg dat de kritiek deels gerechtvaardigd is.
