how the hell did a discussion on a world cup in winter end up being about the heat?
go to joburg in july and enjoy the cold, or capetown and wait for a nice breeze off the atlantic.

But seriously american tackle football has preference over association diveball. Therefore it has become the real thing.
Please don't throat punch me. I'll have to run after you for two steps then dive for it like Dida.
how exactly does it have preference? Nobody gives a fuck about the NFL outside the United States and Canada. Besides, "Amercain Football" is just a rip off of rugby anyway...especially in the days before the advent of the forward pass. American Football is a good game in its own right, but for an American to call it the "real" football is like an American trying to tell an Englishman that they speak "real English".
You are beyond clueless.

Heat is a factor but it is a factor for everyone. Like I said here people die every year from practicing in the 40C heat. It isn't uncommon for players to have to be given IV fluids after games. But I don't think it is a deciding factor for a game, and I really don't think it is going to be close to that hot during the WC.
so maybe they should practice when the humidity and sun go down...say, at 7pm? If practicing in such unbearable heat makes the game more "manly", then by all means, believe that if you want. I'd rather play in the evening and not risk death myself.

This is getting srsly retarded (anyway, I wonder if Zild's intention here was to troll?). Who gives a flying fuck which sport is the "hardest" or "runs more" or "can stand more heat". Go watch your football, we'll watch ours, kthx.

It's also a common American coaching trick to not allow players to drink water during practice, in any sport.
This is just fucked up and I can proudly say that I've been a big part in removing such coaches from many positions in Basketball, here in Australia. It's one of the worst coaching methods around.
And they wonder why they collapse and die in such heat

But listen soccer is just a truncation of Association football. So next time you hear the word just replace it in your little head with association football that way you don't get it mixed up with real football.
Anyway back to my real point. People need to STFU about the weather and blaming it for poor performance.
hahaha
at first i was disappointed because the only groups shown are the european ones
but then i had epic lulz at this gimp named zild

Sweden and Denmark? Hmm... I'm not that happy. Let's see who'll be our next manager, and then, I'll decide what to think of the group.

Russia "should" finish second in their group. Liechtenstein & Azerbaijan are minnows, finishing bottom of their respective Euro groups. Wales can be trouble but are no better than Russia - we'll have to worry about the away leg as usual. Finland is right across the border - we should get a decent home contingent to show up to the away leg and maybe squeeze out a tie... And then there's Germany, enough said - Germany fans should start booking their hotels for SA.

He explains it all.
But as for the groups. Seriously Scotland will have issues with ANY of the teams in our group. Hopefully so do they with each other.
Then maybe our normal strength at home will pull us though. But I expect us to drop points right and left away from home.
