I don't know much about the airline British Midland, but they have flights to Amsterdam from Toronto for 389$. I saw it online yesterday when I was looking to see if I could make this work.

It may be worth looking into for anyone who is going. That truly is the cheapest I have seen so far unless you wait until January maybe.

is that with or without the fuel taxes? cuz I've been looking for the past month every day and Toronto has been the most expensive. anywhere from 500 - 700 (expedia.ca)

the states (buffalo and DTW) are both around 500 if you are lucky

i'm flying into Frankfurt and driving up with friends cuz its my reading week doing a trip out of it.. (4 hour drive is like driving to Toronto from Windsor)

That is cuz you are only looking on Expedia. They are probably one of the more expensive online places to book with.

It comes to 421$ with taxes and there is a stopover @ Heathrow.
I looked it up on cheapflights.ca and went to redtag.ca. I have also purchased 3 flights to Amsterdam with Red Tag in the past so there aren't any issues there for any who are concerned with that.

Here are the details:

$369.00 CADtaxes: $421.00
TORONTO to AMSTERDAM

Flight #: 4856 TORONTO (YYZ) to LONDON (Heathrow) (LHR)
Departure Date: 22 Feb 2008
Departure Time: 18:10 Arrival Date: 23 Feb 2008
Arrival Time: 06:25

Flight #: 103 LONDON (Heathrow) (LHR) to AMSTERDAM (AMS)
Departure Date: 23 Feb 2008
Departure Time: 08:15 Arrival Date: 23 Feb 2008
Arrival Time: 10:30
AMSTERDAM to TORONTO

Flight #: 106 AMSTERDAM (AMS) to LONDON (Heathrow) (LHR)
Departure Date: 25 Feb 2008
Departure Time: 13:40 Arrival Date: 25 Feb 2008
Arrival Time: 14:05

Flight #: 4849 LONDON (Heathrow) (LHR) to TORONTO (YYZ)
Departure Date: 25 Feb 2008
Departure Time: 15:35 Arrival Date: 25 Feb 2008
Arrival Time: 18:55

And yes you would be getting there the day of TE, but that is a decent price for the couple of days and if you cannot get all the time off work to go.
