It took awhile to get browsing blocked at work here, there was whining and crying about how productivity is crap and our internets bill was starting to cost a bit. So I told them to block the social networking sites, the IM's, the proxies and the multimedia sites like youtube.
Then just dumped a huge backlog of work on the worker monkeys to keep them otherwise busy.

Course, the reward for actually getting around the things you're not supposed to be looking at is surprisingly not the 'gee wiz you're a clever award' of champagne, sponge cake and flowers in the tea room that most people seem to expect for some reason.
They just get sacked.

Could be worse.

Could work for me...

Oh god, not the generalized "if you don't like it don't do it." Listen you little cliche ass-parade, my boss is old and slow and I get all the work done he tells me to do. So it's not like going online is slowing our business. If I were ever boss, I'd be like "listen folks, u can go online as long as you get the job done." I have a different work ethic than my boss and apparently you.

This guy doesn't want me online period. Not even on lunch break. We distribute fucking hair products. This isn't the CIA I'm working for. Now go ski on some ice or something you are annoying me.
