2007 was a ridiculous year for me. I think I saw 50+ different acts all around the world, and I really got a great sense of where things are at from that. I made my first trip to Berlin and nearly decided on moving there.

I finally bought cdjs at the beginning of the year, started to put mixes out regularly, and had a successful/profitable year of gigging locally. I stepped up on producing music - this year saw my first release, and im hoping to put out an album's worth of new stuff in a month or two.

a branched out more than ever and somehow, paradoxically, became more specific in my taste

some producers/deejays/labels i was really into or influenced me this year (all lumped together) no way can i make a top tracks list.

as far as tranceaddict is concerned, there are always people here that have an unknowing hand in what I am doing... i was really inspired especially by rjt's summer promo, and lucid's warmth mix was among the most played items in my playlist. anf/freak/jay was probably the poster whom i looked forward to hearing from due to the sheer ridiculousness of his posts, but of course mostly because of the consistently fresh and exciting sets he posted... also i have to give credit to allied nations for some of the most helpful feedback i have received on mixes, the kind of stuff that repeats itself in your head months after you read it.

sorry for the long post

i can't wait to see what i am posting a year from now

2007 was a really good year for trance, alot of good stuff came out, this coming from a loyal trance listener, unlike most house bandwaggoners but we wont go into that.

You still here? Talking about bandwaggoners? As if most of us spend countless hours searching for tracks and records we like, paying money to see DJs we enjoy, putting time and effort into mixes full of "house" music, just to join the bandwaggon, JUST so we can come on little old tranceaddict and have different music taste than Australian GQ, so that we can all tell him his taste sucks. Yes. Thats exactly why I love house (and all those other genres you might not be familiar with).

Do fuck off already. Really. We're all tired of it. Or at LEAST, at the very least, stop making completely asinine statements such as these. It really boggles my mind that after you've been shown that no one likes you here, you'll keep digging, and keep picking at the scab with stupid posts like this...

And yes, we will get into that, because you just opened up the can of worms yourself...

Nah - that was well earned. AustralianGQ exists solely to stir shit and go on racist diatribes.

We'd all be better off without him.

I regret not having made the same effort I made in the past couple of years at scouring for new artists and sounds, as I had quite a bit going on that resulting in a constant postponing of these attempts (and here we are in December). I did, however, manage to finally pick up my CDJ's and also managed to use them regularly, as I was concerned that a collection of dust would be all I had to show for the investment. As a result, I was able to collect both fresh tracks and tracks that I had been aching to get for quite some time.

Nevertheless, I managed to come across a many gems throughout the months, and here's a (very) short list of that which I have been listening to repeatedly:

Stel- Infinity
Kollektive Turmstrasse- Tristesse
Rex Mundi- Desillusion
Blue Foundation- Sweep
Miika Kuisma- One Morning By The Riverside
Guy J- Agent Blue
Deadmau5- Faxing Berlin (yeah, yeah, I know)
Gill Norris- Forme (Shiloh & Micah remix)
Juergens- Love It
Caly- Morning Glory (Funabashi remix)

I also found myself thoroughly repelled by much of Trance that was released this year, as I couldn't even recall I single episode of ASOT (and GDJB, to a lesser extent) that I found predominantly enjoyable. I have a sneaking suspicion that 2008 won't mark many considerable improvements in that area.

As for DJ acts that I stood out most to me this year, it would have to fall on Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, and John Digweed (the second installment in his Transitions series really brought it all up a number of notches).

Many, many great dubstep releases. Other than that, it's been pretty dull, which on a positive note gives me more time to explore 90's jungle, d'n'b, electro and techno further. As previous years, pretty much.

ConQuest - Forever
Mala - Lean Forward
Mala - Bury Da Bwoy
Mala - Changes
Burial - Untrue

Darqwan - M/A..ximum Reespek
Distance - Radical
Distance - Feel Me
Milanese ft. Kate Kestrel - Double Face
Peverelist - The Grind
Peverelist - Roll With The Punches
Peverelist - Erstwhile Rhythm (Forsaken Remix)

I did like Eelke Kleijn's album. Fantastic all round me thinks.

Though really, most of this years highlights are probably more netlabel based then independant/major. Also, TA DJ's did one heck of a job keeping me entertained while on substance!

coded audio's sets were fantastic

Azzzzzzzzz sets are always storming to listen to

RJT's marvelous deep proggy techy minuscule house sets

Clovis/Bas are always fantastic, though Clovis should record more concept sets in 08

Adam Vana does absolutely fantastic sets, tracklist is always fresh and inspired

There really is so many good sets and productions here on TA I just can't seem to credit everyone due to my short memory

Fait's productions were fucking ace, would rate them far above most of the things that came out this year.

Jeremy Rogers tracks are fuckin' blasting all the time. Don't think I hear one bad tune from Jer this year.

There was on very recent trance track on TA forums a novice producer was working on and it totally reminded me of PVD's Love Stimulation Mix. It was a real quality tune.

Greg Nicot from TA producer forums did some ace work this year too.

MEZZIR! Almost forgot, freaking fantastic productions.

Kopi Luwak is a bigggg favorite of mine around here.

Basically all TA's for the most part. Good year all in all.
